Job Description
Are you a strategic thinker with detailed knowledge and understanding of Operational and Compliance risk in the Commercial and Investment Banking sector. As a Compliance & Operational Risk Assessment Senior Associate in the Operational Risk Framework team, you will support the management and implementation of the Compliance & Operational Risk Assessment Framework across the Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB), including but not limited to Compliance & Operational Risk Evaluation (CORE), Risk Events Data (RED), Compliance & Operational Risk Summary (CORS) and Compliance Risk Assessment (CRA). Job responsibilities

  • Support execution of the global and CIB CRA Program including the framework and documentation reviews across the CIB
  • Contribute to a team that is accountable for the delivery and reporting of the CRAs to the respective CIB governance committees
  • Manage & execute quarterly CRA and CORS, in partnership with CIB stakeholders and Firmwide assessment leads
  • Oversee of project and govern the ongoing implementation of Compliance and Operational Risk Assessments across the CIB
  • Manage specific Operational Risk Framework deliverables / workstreams to completion
  • Create and manage project plans, scorecards, RAID logs amongst other project related artifacts
  • Lead meetings with key stakeholders to drive forward the CIB Risk Stripe Lead Community of Practice to enhance existing approaches
  • Lead and own the review of Firmwide Standard / Procedure gap analysis in relation to the CORS, QORA and CRA, including providing effective challenge to second line of defense and corporate
  • Manage and co-ordinate Audit / Compliance / regulatory exams impacting the Compliance and Operational Risk Assessments, working with key stakeholders across the firm to complete request for information
  • Support in the creation of executive presentation materials in addition to capturing actions and tracking to closure
  • Implement tooling and intelligent solutions to streamline processes and enable increased analytics


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data sets and identify trends, patterns, and potential risks.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in risk assessments and compliance documentation.
  • Compliance and Operational Risk Management Knowledge: Understanding of risk management principles and practices, particularly in operational and compliance contexts.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities to develop effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in using risk assessment tools and software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Critical Thinking: Ability to think critically and make informed decisions based on data analysis.
  • Project Management: Experience in managing projects and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing regulatory landscapes and organizational needs.
