What we’re looking for…

We’re looking for a Business Unit Controller to build and drive our Tesco and One Stop Accounts with AG Barr,  primarily focusing on our Soft Drinks portfolio. As Tesco Business Unit Controller, you will be leading one of our most important accounts within the business and will build and implement a long term strategy, anchored around commercial and category growth in partnership with Tesco. This role requires strong team leadership, strategic thinking, deep commercial understanding, strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with Tesco, to drive mutual growth. 

As our Business Unit Controller for Tesco you will…

  • Lead our Soft Drinks portfolio within Tesco and One Stop to drive strategic and accelerated growth within the accounts, managing the P&L across all soft drinks sub categories
  • Create and execute a long term, multi-year strategy, anchored in mutual growth for both Tesco and AG Barr, aligned to the category strategy and business priorities 
  • Lead the cross-functional team to deliver best in class plans, utilising strength in our Category Management, Brand Activation, Digital and Supply Chain teams 
  • Own the total Tesco, One Stop P&L to drive profitable, sustainable growth within the Business Unit, to deliver against the growth objectives for the business
  • Lead the team to build comprehensive joint business plans with Tesco, to leverage strategic partnership and land drive key business objectives 
  • Lead the team to deliver against the internal monthly cycle with accuracy and clarity, including:  forecast delivery, accurate numbers reporting, FY plan projections, using external data sources where required (Tesco Connect, Kantar, Circana, IRI)
  • Develop and inspire a high performing team through coaching and focused personal development planning

What you’ll bring…

  • Significant experience in an FMCG environment (Tesco and Impulse category experience preferable)
  • Proven and demonstrable leadership of a team delivering great results both internally and externally
  • Strong people management and coaching skills
  • A strong understanding of category-led selling and strategic thought leadership 
  • Proven success in managing senior-level relationships internally and externally. Ability to influence decision-makers and effectively present at various organisational levels
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency with CRM, forecasting tools, and Google Office. Experience with Demantra and Looker is a plus.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders
