Position Overview
As a Business Intelligence Developer at EOS, you will play a pivotal role in transforming data into actionable insights that support data‑driven decision‑making across the business. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to design, develop, and maintain Business Intelligence (BI) solutions using SQL, Tableau, and Python.
This role is well‑suited to someone who enjoys working with data end‑to‑end—from understanding business needs to building scalable, high‑quality analytics solutions—and who takes pride in delivering clear, impactful insights.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain Tableau dashboards and reports that clearly visualise and communicate complex data findings.
  • Write and optimise complex SQL queries to support reporting, analytics, and data exploration.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, understand, and translate business requirements into effective BI solutions.
  • Design and implement ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from multiple data sources.
  • Perform data analysis and develop data models to support reporting and analytical needs.
  • Write efficient Python scripts for data manipulation, analysis, and automation tasks.
  • Optimise BI solutions to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in business intelligence and data analytics.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (a Master’s degree is preferred).
  • Strong experience programming in SQL, including writing and optimising complex queries.
  • Proven experience working as a Business Intelligence Developer or Data Analyst.
  • Strong proficiency in Tableau for data visualisation and report development.
  • Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, analysis, and scripting.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills, with strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high‑quality, accurate work.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Tableau certification or experience with additional BI tools such as Power BI or QlikView.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and database management systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
