As a Backend Engineer II, you will design, develop, and maintain high-efficiency backend services, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance Spotify's search experience.
We are looking for talented, engaged backend engineers to join our teams who are passionate about working on highly available, low latency backend services that form the backbone of our search experience for hundreds of millions of users across the globe. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping the future of Spotify’s search capabilities, driving innovation to deliver smoother, more intuitive experiences that help users quickly find and discover the content they love.
What You'll Do
- Work across the stack in a cross-functional team that helps deliver a magical experience to all of our users around the world.
- Design, develop, deploy and optimize high-efficiency backend services with a focus on high availability, low latency, and scalability.
- Deliver testable, maintainable, and high-quality code.
- Share knowledge, promote standard methodologies, and collaborate with equally passionate members of your team.
- Take operational responsibility for the services that are owned by your team, potentially including taking part in an on-call rotation.

- We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! For this role, you can be within the EMEA region as long as we have a work location.
- Excluding France for now due to on-call restrictions.
- This team operates within the Central Eastern time zone for collaboration.
