Provide expert technical advice on age assurance and digital identity technologies within online safety regulation. Lead research and evaluations, assess technical feasibility and risks, translate complex concepts for policy and leadership audiences, prepare briefings and demonstrations, monitor emerging trends, and engage with academia, industry, public bodies, and external technical groups.

Supports strategy and delivery projects within Ofcom’s Online Safety Group. Responsibilities include developing workplans, assisting with project management, stakeholder engagement, publications, budget tracking, risk and governance processes, online-harm triage, and operational process development. The role requires strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, drafting, relationship-building, and organizational skills, with flexibility to work across evolving regulatory priorities.

Provides senior technical leadership on communications technologies, digital infrastructure, connectivity, security, resilience, competition, and regulatory policy. The role commissions and evaluates technical research, advises senior stakeholders, anticipates technology developments, contributes to technology strategy, and manages a small technical team. Expertise is required across 4G/5G mobile networks, satellite communications, optical and fibre networks, transport technologies, and broadcasting.
