Assess Housing Payment and complex Crisis Payment applications for Camden residents experiencing financial hardship. Provide expert guidance to Grant Assessors, manage a small team, coach colleagues, support complex decision-making, and help develop integrated grant and advice services. Ensure accurate and efficient support delivery while improving systems, resident outcomes, and long-term financial resilience.

Conduct weekend and bank-holiday Mental Health Act assessments for urgent cases that cannot wait until the next working day. Manage varied caseloads, prioritize under pressure, complete accurate reports, and provide emergency social work support. Occasionally assist with Adult Social Care referrals, including no-entry cases and additional care package decisions. Work within relevant legislation and legal procedures while collaborating with an experienced EDT worker.

Investigate complex trading standards and consumer protection cases, enforce relevant legislation and statutory notices, ensure fair trading and product safety, and protect consumers and businesses. The role involves taking enforcement action, applying investigative and disclosure requirements, and building partnerships with agencies and organisations. Applicants must hold a relevant Trading Standards or Consumer Affairs diploma, or an equivalent qualification, and have practical experience in trading standards, consumer protection, and complex casework.
