Placement-year intern supporting the Third Party Risk Management team within Governance, Risk, and Compliance. Responsibilities include data collection and analysis, regulatory reporting, documentation, operational tasks, system testing, process improvements, automation, and AI initiatives. The intern will maintain risk information and procedures, support internal projects, and develop knowledge of GRC concepts, financial markets, and third-party risk management.

Prepares journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reports, and financial statements for EMEA and APAC entities. Supports month-end and quarter-end close, statutory audits, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Identifies process improvements, validates financial data, and contributes to accurate management reporting and disclosure quality.

Assists with legal hold inventory management, workflow documentation, eDiscovery tool testing, and maintaining internal playbooks. The role provides hands-on exposure to litigation lifecycle processes, information governance, legal technology, and data analytics while collaborating with directors, analysts, and records management teams.

Twelve-month placement supporting AI tooling integration and reliability engineering for high-availability financial systems. Responsibilities include performance testing, monitoring, automation, system architecture collaboration, resilience requirements, clean coding, and AI-assisted workflow improvements. Candidates should be computer science undergraduates with programming proficiency and foundational knowledge of reliability, monitoring, or AI/ML concepts. The role is based in Belfast with office attendance two or three days weekly.

Assist with developing and deploying AI tools, optimizing LLM-powered solutions, preparing data for machine learning, and collaborating with stakeholders on AI applications. The role covers the full project lifecycle from ideation through deployment, including internal insights tools, process automation, and client-facing financial-market applications.

Own the strategy and implementation of CME Group’s external data and analytics API ecosystem. Build Python and C++ SDKs, schema registries, technical documentation, cloud distribution frameworks, authentication, telemetry, CI/CD workflows, and unified API standards. Partner with customers, product teams, engineering, and business stakeholders to improve developer experience, simplify data consumption, and normalize API design across the organization. The role combines hands-on software development, customer integration, technical writing, and enterprise API strategy.

Engineer and operate reliable GCP infrastructure and middleware platforms supporting high-concurrency, ultra-low-latency trading applications. Responsibilities include migrating messaging, service discovery, and data distribution systems; maintaining observability, SLIs, and SLOs; responding to production incidents; reducing toil through automation; supporting disaster recovery and resiliency testing; and mentoring junior engineers.
