The role involves supporting authors, promoting open and ethical science, following editorial workflows, meeting deadlines, and communicating clearly. It is remote, part-time, institution-based, and expected to average approximately two hours per month over a three-year term.

Commission, write, edit, proofread, and publish 2–3 applied ecology blog posts monthly. Promote content through social media, support research-summary copy-editing, identify new content opportunities, participate in monthly planning meetings, and occasionally promote the journal at conferences or workshops. The role requires strong scientific communication, organization, networking, and independent working skills.

Commission, write, edit, and publish 2–3 scientifically robust ecology blog posts monthly. Develop content ideas with the Assistant Editor, proofread submissions, support research-summary copy-editing, and promote posts through social media. The editor may also conduct author interviews for video and podcasts, attend relevant events, and network with ecologists. This remote voluntary role requires approximately 8–10 hours per month and offers training in Canva and WordPress.
