MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE BUSINESS:
As an Associate Workday Integrations Consultant in our Kainos EDM team, you'll be part of a team responsible for developing and maintaining a suite of enterprise document management integrations deployed to a large, global customer base. Working underthe guidance of experienced consultants and your team lead, you'll contribute to integration development, support customer upgrades to new product versions, and assist with the deployment of integrations across customer tenants.
This is a hands-on technical role with real responsibility from the start. You'll participate in engineering sprints, work directly in Workday Studio and Orchestrate for Integrations, and gain exposure to a wide range of enterprise customers. There's a structuredonboarding path that includes deep dives into the integration suite, mock exercises, and paired work with senior team members — so you'll be supported, but you'll also be expected to take initiative, ask good questions, and own the quality of yourcontributions.
You care about doing work well, have strong attention to detail, and are motivated by seeing your work in production across real customer environments.
MINIMUM (ESSENTIAL) REQUIREMENTS:
A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline — or equivalent practical experience
Foundational knowledge of XML, XPath, and XSLT
Familiarity with an object-oriented programming language (Java preferred)
Basic understanding of cloud computing, web services, and integration concepts (APIs, authentication, data transformation)
Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow established processes and documentation
Willingness to learn complex systems quickly and work through ambiguity with support
Good communication skills — you can ask clear questions, flag issues early, and explain your work to others on the team
Ability to work in a team environment, follow sprint-based delivery processes, and meet deadlines
A proactive attitude — you look for ways to improve, whether that's your own understanding or the tools and processes around you
DESIRABLE:
Workday experience or certification (HCM fundamentals, integrations, or Studio)
Exposure to middleware or integration platforms
Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and deployment pipelines
Familiarity with XSLT transformations or data mapping concepts
Any experience in a customer-facing or consulting environment
