Main Purpose of the Role & Responsibilities in the Business
As a Workday HCM Lead within our new EU Pay Transparency team, you will play a pivotal role in building and shaping one of the most important new service areas within our Services Business Unit. With EU legislation driving immediate demand, this is an area of high growth and strategic importance for us – and you will be at the forefront of establishing and scaling the capability.
You’ll bring a proactive, hands-on mindset, stepping forward decisively to solve complex challenges, inspire confidence with clients, and drive forward new ways of working. You will be fully accountable for the quality and impact of our Pay Transparency solutions, ensuring we deliver compliance, value, and adoption for our clients.
You will:
Act as the functional lead and escalation point on EU Pay Transparency projects, guiding customers through complex design and compliance challenges.
Shape the Workday HCM solution for Pay Transparency to deliver lasting business value, ensuring it is fit for purpose, scalable, and future ready.
Partner with sales and pre-sales teams to shape compelling proposals, provide commercially competitive estimates, and position our EU Pay Transparency offering effectively in the market.
Drive the growth of capability within the Pay Transparency team – coaching, mentoring, and developing consultants to build a high-performing delivery practice.
Collaborate closely with other functional and technical Workday leads (Compensation, PRISM/Reporting, Financials, Payroll, etc.) to design cross-functional solutions.
Act as a thought leader, representing the Pay Transparency team internally and externally, contributing to knowledge sharing, client workshops, and wider industry conversations.
Ensure our services are delivered with strong commercial focus, balancing utilisation, profitability, and long-term customer value.
What we are looking for:
Significant experience in senior HCM solution leadership on multiple large-scale Workday implementations, ideally with exposure to Compensation, Advanced Compensation, and/or Reporting.
Deep understanding of the Workday HCM product, with proven ability to design and deliver compliance-driven solutions (experience in Pay Equity, Compensation Transparency, or HR regulatory projects advantageous).
Strong knowledge of SaaS delivery methodologies and proven track record in leading cross-functional Workday projects.
Broad business and technology background, with awareness of EU HR and pay regulations and their impact on system design.
A proactive, ownership-driven mindset – comfortable with ambiguity, quick to take initiative, and focused on delivering results in a fast-moving environment.
Excellent leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to attract, develop, and retain senior consulting talent.
Strong client engagement experience, working with senior executives, with the ability to confidently present complex topics to customer and conference audiences.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distil complexity into clear, actionable insight.
Strong commercial awareness, including experience in managing utilisation, sales support, and service profitability.
Willingness to travel to customer sites within the region as required (minimal out-of-region travel).
Nice to have:
Workday HCM certification (Core HCM, Compensation, Advanced Compensation) and at least two additional specialisms (e.g., Reporting, Payroll, Talent).
Experience working on projects involving pay equity, gender pay gap reporting, or transparency legislation.
Professional qualifications in HR, reward, or change management.
Experience building new service lines or practices within a consulting environment.
People Management:
Where you have direct reports, your responsibilities will include:
Setting and reviewing individual and team goals, ensuring alignment with the EU Pay Transparency service strategy and the wider Workday Practice.
Supporting and coaching your team to achieve professional and project delivery success.
Providing continuous feedback, conducting regular 1:1s, and completing performance reviews.
Supporting career growth and training pathways for consultants within the Pay Transparency team.
Actively participating in recruitment, team shaping, and workforce planning to grow capability.
Monitoring utilisation and allocation to ensure delivery efficiency and staff wellbeing.
