Description

2025 is all about growth here at Squiz🚀 ! We are looking for a frontend developer to join the Squiz marketing team – working closely with marketers, UX/UI designers, and digital specialists to build, maintain and enhance our public-facing web presence. While you’ll be the solo developer in the marketing team, you’ll be backed by a global network of engineers, designers, product managers and technical consultants across the Squiz organisation.

Your day-to-day will involve building components and pages in our DXP, recommending frontend solutions, problem-solving bugs, and contributing ideas to help us create the fastest, smartest, most personalised experience for our customers and prospects.

We value independence, initiative and creativity – especially when it comes to leveraging AI tools, exploring new frontend tech, and challenging the status quo.

The Role:

  • Build pages, components and interfaces using HTML, CSS (SCSS, Tailwind) and JavaScript (vanilla, React)
  • Translate marketing requirements and designs into modern, responsive, high-performing web experiences
  • Optimise frontend performance and accessibility across devices and browsers
  • Work independently and manage your own work via Jira, in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Troubleshoot and QA your own work (we also have a QA team to help); contribute to code reviews and technical planning
  • Recommend the right features, tools and approaches from our DXP to meet business goals
  • Work with global peers to solve new challenges and break new ground - you’ll have the people that built the product on-tap and the opportunity to influence product development as you build
  • Collaborate with backend and product teams to ensure seamless integration
  • Support website projects end-to-end, from idea to delivery

Who you are:

  • Advanced proficiency in front-end technologies, including accessible HTML, JavaScript, CSS, APIs and frameworks such as Tailwind and React.
  • Experience writing backend scripts and APIs using Node.js and related frameworks
  • Strong understanding of content management concepts and experience using CMS to build websites, apps and portals
  • Experience with a web software development lifecycle is advantageous, understanding written requirements, QA’ing your own code, releasing code to DEV/UAT and PROD branches and environments
  • Strong experience using code repositories - we use gitlab extensively
  • Knowledge of web security best practices and performance optimisation techniques
  • Demonstrable troubleshooting skills, ability to understand how a solution or implementation fits within a large SaaS platform
  • Experience working in collaborative agile environments, using tools such as Jira and Git

Benefits:

  • Squiz Flex - Have flexibility as to where and how you work every day
  • 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • 2 days of Compassionate Leave
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Company Shutdown between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day
  • Open Door Policy - No need to worry about chain of command here at Squiz
  • £150 Annual Healthy Lifestyle Allowance
  • Excellent Career Development Opportunities

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
