About The Team
The tools UX team designs and delivers solutions for a diverse set of internal and external tools that support various critical business functions. We work with multiple product, engineering and stakeholder teams across the design lifecycle – from early discovery to implementation.
About The Role
We’re looking for a UX Interaction Designer to help craft the experience of our web-based tools. This will involve creating new products/features or evolving existing ones for enterprise and content management tools that are used by internal and external users. Outstanding user experiences come from people who have the vision to see the big picture while maintaining an incredible attention to detail. In this role, you will partner with product managers, work closely with engineering teams and internalize business goals – melding them together to design and deliver great products.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design innovative, intuitive solutions for new features and enhancements across a variety of tools used by Roku’s internal and external users
- Gather requirements and create user-centered experience flows, including the cross-pollination of ideas with different teams within Roku
- In partnership with experienced researchers, conduct user research, analyze the data and present findings in a clear & actionable manner
- Build flexible and scalable products/features that our partners can use to maximize their experience on the Roku platform
- Work closely with Product Managers to identify the problems, business goals, and user outcomes that your designs will address
- Utilize user journeys to help guide and frame your design approaches
- Collaborate closely with the development team throughout the lifecycle of the product/feature
- Plan and execute formal presentations to Directors and Executives in design reviews
- Own your designs and communicate effectively, articulating your design decisions to colleagues from diverse disciplines
- Give and receive feedback in regular design critiques with your peers
We’re excited if you have
- Experience in UX and the ability to work independently with a product team
- Experience as an interaction designer on enterprise or B2B products. Even better if you’ve designed for content pipeline management systems
- Have shipped multiple products/features, and can discuss your specific contributions in a compelling way
- Portfolio highlighting projects demonstrating user-centered design solutions with measurable outcomes (include online portfolio link with resume)
- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment, and to embrace opportunities to rapidly iterate on design
- A passion for innovation and problem solving
- Hands-on experience working with User Researchers (or conducting User Research yourself) and utilizing the results of that research to shape your designs
- Endless empathy for the user
- Proficiency in UX Design tools such as Figma (or similar) to create user interfaces
- Degree in Design, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred
