This is a unique opportunity for a Risk & Compliance specialist to join the Lloyd’s Insurance Company (LIC) where you will report directly to the Chief Underwriting Officer.

The holder of this role will be seen as the dedicated first line risk and compliance specialist for the oversight of the seconded underwriters from across the market that underwrite risks through this platform (also known as the Person’s in Contact with the Public (PCPs)), as well as the designated professionals within Lloyd’s and across the market that are Responsible for Distribution (RDs).

Under the guidance of the LIC CUO you will monitor, intervene and continuously improve the risk and control environment of the UK Branch of the Lloyd’s Insurance Company, being a dedicated point of contact for the secondee underwriters and distribution oversight specialists.  You will take ownership of managing the process for oversight queries and liaison with second and third line risk and compliance to ensure effective resolution.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Responsible for the ongoing implementation of the first line risk framework for the oversight of secondee underwriters and distribution oversight specialists

  • Identifying and implementing improvements to the 1st line risk framework

  • Perform duties delegated from the LIC CUO in their capacity as “RD-in-chief”

  • Monitoring of files for completeness and accuracy, liaising with the relevant teams where action is needed.

  • Identifying and escalating risks, monitoring delivery of actions and, where appropriate, directly responsible for the delivery of risk actions.

  • Ensure the regular reporting to Lloyd’s Insurance Company management team on the risk and control environment including highlighting actions and key risk issues

  • Liaison with Risk and Compliance functions, including implementation of any new second line risk and compliance framework changes and initiatives regarding the UK Branch.

  • Work towards becoming a person Responsible for Distribution yourself as you develop in the role under the supervision of the CUO.
