The UK Manufacturing Execution System Product Owner leads the development of the MES application for UK industrial competence centres (ICCs) and provides technical support to site super users.
You will need to be on site 3 days per week, hybrid working. This could be at any of our Crawley, Templecombe, Glasgow or Belfast and there is going to be a fairly heavy travel expectation.
They are responsible for the development of the UK MES roadmap, standards and the prioritisation of requirements and solution definition in line with UK ICC needs.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Co-ordinate with stakeholders across UK Industrial sites to capture and document MES requirements.
- Work closely with super users to understand site specific requirements and develop solution definitions in line with UK standards.
- Develop and define MES standards to ensure consistent and efficient ways of working across all UK sites.
- Ensure that defined standards align with industry best practice and co-ordinate with the Thales Group MES leads to identify opportunities for collaboration.
- Maintain the MES development and deployment roadmap for the UK.
- Prioritize requirements and solution definition in collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure timely and effective implementation.
- Lead regular Agile rituals to manage progress, prioritisation and improvement activities.
- Oversee MES deployment activities across UK Industrial sites providing technical support to super users.
- Coordinate with MES embedded support, IS/IT support and site resources to ensure successful and timely deployment of MES solutions
- Ensure clear definition of user stories and define test cases.
- Plan and manage validation activities to ensure the MES application meets defined requirements.
- Stakeholder Management
About you
- Strong understanding of manufacturing and production process definition in high complexity environments.
- Experience in the configuration of MES and ERP systems.
- Experience leading project delivery through both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Industrial experience of implementing new technologies including change and risk management.
- Min. 3 years’ experience in a Manufacturing Systems related role.
- Understanding of total supply chain disciplines (Manufacturing Engineering, Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Delivery, Supplier Quality Assurance, Logistic/Delivery)
Desirable
- Experience in full lifecycle of product (bid-design-development-production-delivery-service)
- Experience in the defence manufacturing sector (low/medium/high volume)
- Experience with IOT architectures & industrial communication protocols
- Manufacturing degree or equivalent technical qualification
- Lean awareness (e.g. 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma etc.)
