More about our mission and what we offer

Job Description

We are looking for a proactive and motivated individual to join our Banking team within Treasury to help manage our growing number of counterparties across the Treasury team. You will be the face of Wise Treasury and build relationships with our existing and prospective Treasury Banking partners, covering FX, corporate banking and investments. You will look to collaborate across teams within Wise and drive efficiencies in onboarding and managing counterparty relationships for the Treasury team.

Role Responsibilities

  • Relationship Coordination: Act as a key point of contact for our Tier 1 banking partners, FX providers, and custodians. You’ll handle day-to-day queries, troubleshoot operational issues, and ensure banks are meeting their SLAs.

  • Onboarding & KYC: Take ownership of the end-to-end onboarding process for new treasury counterparties. This includes preparing complex documentation (ISDAs, custody agreements) and managing KYC refresh cycles to ensure our accounts remain in good standing.

  • Commercial Support: Assist the Treasury Manager in service reviews by creating data-driven performance packs. You will be responsible for gathering data on bank fees, monitoring "wallet share," and identifying where we might be overpaying or where service levels are dropping.

  • Operational Efficiency: Work with Treasury Operations and Engineering to resolve payment escalations or settlement blocks. You’ll be the "bridge" that explains technical Wise problems to bank support teams and vice versa.

  • Safeguarding Stewardship: Support the integrity of our safeguarding account network, ensuring all accounts are correctly labeled, audited, and compliant with local regulatory requirements.

  • Process Improvement: Identify manual "pain points" in how we manage bank accounts or signers and work on projects to automate these workflows.

Who you are

  • Polished Communicator: You possess professional communication skills and feel comfortable representing Wise to senior stakeholders at major global banks.

  • Treasury or Corporate Banking Experience: You have 2–4 years of experience in a Treasury, Transaction Banking, or Corporate Banking environment. You understand the "basics" of a Treasury desk—how FX settlements work, what a Money Market Fund is, and why liquidity matters, etc.

  • Highly Organised: You have a "get it done" attitude and can manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment without losing your cool.

  • Detail Oriented: You catch the small errors in documentation or reporting that others might miss.

  • Independent & Flexible: You are happy to take ownership of your workstream and adapt quickly when priorities shift.

  • Relationship Management: You have experience dealing with external partners. You aren’t afraid to pick up the phone to a bank RM to push a request through or challenge an incorrect fee.

Nice to have

  • Relationship Experience: You have previous experience specifically managing or supporting partner bank relationships, especially Tier 1 Banking institutions..

Hybrid Background: You have experience working in a traditional Tier 1 financial institution as well as a fast-paced fintech or high-growth environment.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
