Job Responsibilities:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Supports, and initiates various elements of the Magna quality programs. Performs product testing and audits products and processes to ensure system compliance with supplier requirements/specifications. Leads in-house and/or on-site customer product sorts and re-inspections to resolve quality issues which may require. Issues, maintains and implements activities corrective/preventative action. Provides input on quality problems and recommends process changes if necessary. Assists in and/or leads root cause analysis processes. Performs fixture reliability / repeatability analysis to test accuracy of measurement. Visually inspects customer part returns and determines disposition on any non-conforming product. Performs other duties as necessary including providing product launch support. Assists in formulating quality control policies and procedures and development of quality standards. Monitors and controls costs, timing, and other related aspects of projects. Serves as a resource by providing a problem-solving function by initiating action to overcome obstacles as they are encountered and prevent potential quality problems. May set visual standards, analyze Statistical Process Control (SPC) data and initiate changes in control plans and charts. May develop/analyze product testing procedures and set up testing.
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates degree and/or Quality Technician certification by the American Society of Quality; or equivalent preferred
  • Significant related work experience including blueprint reading skills
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, update, and work on all processes/testing/suppliers in designated area of responsibility
  • Basic knowledge of standard work, in-process control sheets, and quality standards related to job
  • Solid project management and problem-solving skills to work on complex projects independently under minimal work direction
  • Advanced SPC skills to analyze, draw conclusions, and recommend course of action
  • Knowledge with AIAG core tools.
  • Experience in working with customer specific requirements.
  • Experience in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Proven experience working with cross functional teams to complete daily tasks and projects.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other employees.
  • Knowledge/experience of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot issues that may arise.


ROLE EXPECTATIONS

  • Performs product testing using a variety of methods. Audits products and processes to ensure system compliance with customer requirements/specifications. Uses and understands MSA and SPC applications.
  • Leads in-house or on-site customer product sorts and re-inspections to resolve quality issues. Trains operators on off-line part inspection to help contain product quality problems.
  • Issues, maintains and implements activities relating to corrective and/or preventative action. Provides input on causes or reasons for quality problems and recommends process changes if necessary. Assists in and/or leads supplier driven root cause analysis processes.
  • Visually inspects customer part returns and determines disposition on any non-conforming product. Gathers and summarizes data for quality reports.
  • Performs fixture reliability/repeatability analysis to test accuracy of measurement.
  • Supports, and initiates total quality programs. Defines scope, plans, organizes, leads and directs technical work and departmental efforts for new and existing programs.
  • Serves as a resource by providing a problem solving function by initiating action to overcome obstacles as they are encountered and prevent potential quality problems.
  • Inputting scrap and scrap analysis.
  • Assist quality engineers in scrap reduction projects.
