As a highly skilled and motivated Technical Program Manager (TPM) who is passionate about delivery and accountability. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical and agile background, excellent program management skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our programs are delivered on time, within scope, and with utmost quality.
Our Technical Program Manager’s responsibilities include leading planning sessions, publishing project & product release timelines, promoting/coaching agile practices and continuous improvement, reporting project metrics and status, triaging issues and risks and collaborating with product and engineering management.
In this role you will be part of our Engineering team, reporting to the Senior Manager – Technical Program Management based in our Austin office. This role is based in Belfast, NI.
What You’ll Be Doing – The Day to Day:
- Monitor and manage program risks, identifying potential issues early and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate activities across several independent agile teams with a focus on timelines and dependencies.
- Establish clear accountability for program tasks and deliverables, ensuring all team members understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Partner with the product and engineering leads to resolve issues and keep projects on track
- Communicate program status, risks, and issues to stakeholders in a transparent and timely manner.
- Reporting engineering metrics for executive leadership
- Effectively interact with all levels of the organization
- Facilitate issues and resolve conflict as appropriate
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment where every team member feels valued and heard.
- Support team members' professional development by providing mentorship and growth opportunities.
Who You Are – The Essential Criteria:
- 7+ years’ of Program Management experience in a Software company.
- Track record of delivering strategic projects to completion by driving progress and alignment across cross-functional teams.
- Achieved Agile Certification in at least one Agile delivery framework.
- Experience with Lean/Agile frameworks and methods, i.e.: Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, XP, etc.
- Ability to efficiently prioritise work and communicate progress on multiple concurrent projects.
- Experience presenting metrics and technical updates to a variety of audiences.
- Ability to lead teams through issue resolution and risk management.
- Self-starter who identifies, negotiates, and solves problems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Who You Are – Desirable criteria:
- Possess passion, energy, and enthusiasm to drive results, highly action oriented.
- Excellent change management skills, i.e., comfortable with ambiguity and constant change, yet able to execute on commitments.
- Ability to understand the nuances and constraints of the larger picture.
- Significant process and stakeholder management experience.
- Expert understanding of program management best practices.
- Certified Scrum master and/or Project Management.
- Past programming experience a plus.
