We’re on the lookout for a Technical Product Manager to join us on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role goes far beyond delivering features, it’s about shaping the technology that powers our platform. You’ll be shaping the technology to create a seamless experience for both our customers and the energy specialists who support them.

This is a unique opportunity to play a central role in a high stakes sector. You’ll be at the heart of building a scalable platform, managing complex dependencies and making strategic decisions that unlock new value. While experience in energy flexibility or regulated environments is a bonus, what really matters is your product craft and passion for solving hard technical problems.

If you thrive on ambiguity, love bringing clarity to chaos and can balance innovation with the realities of a structured corporate environment, this could be your next big challenge.

Here’s a taste of what you’ll be doing:

  • Own the product lifecycle end-to-end, from discovery through execution, ensuring integrations deliver consistent, high-quality experiences

  • Manage the technical aspects of our partnerships, enabling smooth integrations with third-party systems

  • Act as the strategic product voice in engineering-heavy conversations, balancing present delivery with a long-term vision that keeps future options open

  • Champion your product vision, inspiring teams and stakeholders across the business

  • Take an iterative, experimental approach to development, driving rapid learning and adaptation

  • Play a leading role in the Product Community: sharing insights, supporting peers, and raising the bar for product management

Are we the perfect match?

  • Significant experience in product management, with a track record of leading complex, technical product initiatives

  • Strong product fundamentals — using discovery, prioritisation and strategy to guide decisions in uncertain, high-complexity environments

  • Proven ability to collaborate closely with engineering teams on integrations and technical architecture

  • Strategic mindset: you can deliver for today while designing with the future in mind

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire cross-functional teams

  • Comfort working in ambiguity, with the ability to find clarity and direction in volatile markets

  • Tools we use (helpful, but not essential): Jira, AWS, Google Suite, Mixpanel, Miro

What makes this role different

  • You’ll be shaping the integration layer — not just front-end features. It’s about creating a robust, scalable foundation that brings together hardware, software and partners in a way that feels seamless and consistent to the end user

  • You’ll need to be both innovative and pragmatic: able to push boundaries while navigating the realities of a larger organisation

  • This is a role for someone who can balance entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to thrive in a structured environment. You’ll disrupt where it makes sense, but you’ll also know when structure helps you scale

  • You’ll be part of something transformative: building products that will help define the future of the energy industry

It would be great if you had

  • Experience working in energy flexibility or other regulated industries

  • Familiarity with large-scale integrations and complex technical ecosystems

  • A background that demonstrates you’re comfortable balancing short-term delivery with long-term strategy

At E.ON Next, product skills are essential they’re the hardest to teach. Energy industry knowledge is a bonus, but we’ll back your ability to learn that quickly. What we’re really looking for is someone who can navigate technical complexity, inspire teams and build scalable products that last.

Here’s what else you need to know:

  • Role may close earlier due to high applications.

  • 12 month fixed term contract

  • Competitive salary

  • Location – London - E.ON Next, 47-53 Charterhouse Street, Farringdon, London, EC1M 6PB with travel to our other sites when required.

  • Excellent parental leave allowance.

  • Award-Winning Workplace - We’re proud to be named a Sunday Times Best Place to Work 2025 and the Best Place to Work for 16–34-year-olds

  • Outstanding Benefits - Enjoy 26 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, a generous pension, life cover, bonus opportunities and access to 20 flexible benefits with tax/NI savings

  • Flexible & Family-Friendly - Our industry-leading hybrid and family-friendly policies earned us double recognition at the Personnel Today Awards 2024. We’re open to discussing how flexibility can work for you

  • Inclusive & Diverse - We’re the only energy company in the Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers. We’re also proud winners of Best Employer for Women and Human Company of the Year—recognising our inclusive, people-first culture

  • Support at Every Stage of Life - We’re Fertility Friendly and Menopause Friendly accredited, with inclusive support for everyone

  • Accessible & Supportive - Do you consider yourself as having a disability? As a Disability Confident Employer, we guarantee interviews for disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the role and will make any adjustments needed during the process

  • Invested in Your Growth - From inclusive talent networks to top-tier development programmes, we’ll support your growth every step of the way

  • For all successful candidates.  Due to the nature of this role your employment will be subject to a basic DBS (Disclosure Barring Service) check being carried out by ourselves via a 3rd party service provider

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
