Job Opportunity: Technical Product Manager – Developer Experience

Are you passionate about empowering developers and building seamless technical experiences? Do you thrive at the intersection of emerging AI capabilities and world-class platform design? Join us as a Technical Product Manager and help shape the future of developer experience in our AI-led transformation.

About Us: Thomas is a global leader in the world of People science, and we are embarking on an exciting journey to become a cutting-edge, AI-powered product organization. As part of our transformation, we are reimagining our products and product experience to stay ahead in a dynamic and fast-evolving market. Our environment is challenging, fast-paced, and full of opportunities to make a real impact.

The Role: As a Technical Product Manager for Developer Experience, you will be responsible for shaping how developers interact with Thomas’ solutions. You’ll focus on crafting intuitive, performant, and scalable developer-facing features, while aligning closely with engineering, data science, and platform architecture teams.

What You’ll Do:

  • Shape Technical Strategy:
Define and evolve the developer experience roadmap, aligned with our AI product architecture, business goals, and technical feasibility. Prioritize enhancements that reduce integration time, improve usability, and scale with customer demand.
  • Lead Discovery & Experimentation:
Partner with developers and internal teams to identify friction points and explore improvements. Validate hypotheses through rapid experimentation and user feedback.
  • Deliver with Precision:
Work closely with engineering to ship robust, scalable, and testable Developer Experience solutions. Guide the development of ALPHA/BETA programs and production-ready deployments.
  • Champion Developer Insights:
Use telemetry, support feedback, and tooling insights to uncover opportunities and drive continuous improvement. Define and monitor KPIs like integration success rate, error rates, and DX satisfaction.
  • Collaborate Across Teams:
Act as the technical product liaison between engineering, support, and go-to-market teams. Clearly communicate product direction, technical decisions, and progress with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Stay Ahead of the Curve:
Bring external awareness of trends in LLM context strategies, developer tooling, and open-source innovation. Use this insight to guide platform improvements and maintain competitive advantage.
Requirements

About You: We’re looking for a technical product professional who is:

  • Developer-Centric:
You understand and care deeply about the developer journey, from first API call to production deployment. You’ve built tools or platforms developers love.
  • Data-Driven:
You define success with clarity, track technical metrics and use insights to iterate and improve.
  • Curious & Innovative:
You constantly explore new technologies, developer workflows, and emerging model capabilities. You love digging into code, testing prototypes, and experimenting to learn.
  • Collaborative & Clear:
You can explain complex technical topics to diverse audiences and bring people along with your vision. You build trust across engineering, product, and commercial teams.
  • Strategic & Resilient:
You align day-to-day work with long-term vision, stay calm in ambiguity, and adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment.

Key Differentiators

  • AI Fluency:
Experience working with LLMs, prompt engineering, model context strategies (e.g. embeddings, RAG), or similar technical domains.
  • Developer Tooling:
Background in building APIs, SDKs, or technical interfaces with a focus on usability and performance.
  • Industry Awareness:
Knowledge of the HCM or people science domain is a plus, especially if paired with developer platform experience.

Why Join Us?

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
