About the Team

Marketing Hub is HubSpot’s flagship product, which gives marketers the tools they need to reach their audience at the right time and place. Within Marketing Hub, we’re looking for a Technical Lead II to join the Forms Backend team to help build the future of our Forms product.

The Forms team mission is to help customers grow better by enabling them to generate high quality leads via engaging, powerful and highly converting forms. HubSpot’s form builder enables customers to easily create custom forms for their website and connect it to their CRM without any technical expertise. We operate at a high scale and build one of the most widely used products in HubSpot.
We are looking for a Technical Lead II who has a passion for delivering innovative, high-impact products that put customers first. If that’s you, apply.

Key Expectations for Technical Lead II:

  • A Tech Lead II is a player-coach responsible for leading a small team.
  • They are recognized as high-performing engineers.
  • They collaborate with Product, Design, Data Science, and other Tech Leads in their family to define and share relevant, compelling, and challenging goals for their team.
  • They work across teams with other TLs to resolve cross-team issues.
  • They proactively take ownership of their team’s on-call health and product reliability and quality.
  • They have an interest and opinion in the direction of the product. They do not defer this over to the PM or PD or others.  Instead, they are an active member of the team’s leadership triad,  co-setting the direction for the team.
  • They proactively look to grow the members of their team to enable them to take on harder and harder tasks.
  • They are creating and fostering diverse teams and an inclusive culture.

We’re looking for:

  • A strong senior engineer with experience leading small teams
  • A thirst for technical challenges and an enthusiasm for hands-on problem-solving
  • Energised by experimenting with new technologies and AI.
  • Values a working solution much more highly than the optimal solution.
  • A customer-centric attitude and someone who can develop opinions about the HubSpot product
  • An understanding of building reliable systems in a complex architectural space

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
