About the Customer Journey Product Line
At HubSpot, the Customer Journey Product Line (CJPL) is reimagining how customers experience HubSpot from their very first interaction through their long-term success. We believe every customer—regardless of size, tier, or skill—should find value immediately, build momentum quickly, and see outcomes grow over time.
We’re creating a continuous journey that blends onboarding with everboarding: an adaptive system that not only helps customers get started but also guides them as their needs evolve. Our goal is to deliver intelligent, context-aware experiences that reduce friction, anticipate what’s next, and scale seamlessly—without relying on human intervention.
What You’ll Do
As a Frontend Technical Lead on the Customer Journey Product Line team, you’ll be a hands-on engineer (~70% coding) while also guiding your team’s technical direction and supporting other engineers’ growth. You will:
- Own and evolve the front-end experiences that power HubSpot’s customer journeys—from onboarding flows to adaptive everboarding loops.
- Drive improvements in performance, accessibility, personalization, and consistency across customer touchpoints.
- Partner with designers, PMs, and product engineers to deliver intuitive, reliable, and user-centered learning and activation experiences.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to modernize our stack (React, TypeScript, GraphQL, micro frontends, etc.) and build intelligent, context-aware UI systems.
- Mentor and coach engineers on technical design, clean coding practices, and scalable architecture.
- Shape the long-term vision for customer-facing front-end experiences, ensuring they adapt and scale to meet the needs of a growing global customer base.
- Influence team culture by fostering collaboration, autonomy, and a focus on technical excellence.
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
- Has 7+ years of frontend engineering experience, with strong expertise in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and modern web technologies.
- Has experience leading technical projects, setting architectural direction, and mentoring engineers.
- Thrives in solving challenges at scale—performance optimization, personalization, accessibility, and user experience.
- Writes clean, maintainable, and well-tested code with a strong focus on usability and reliability.
- Communicates clearly across engineering, product, and design stakeholders.
- Balances hands-on coding with technical leadership responsibilities.
- Is interested in technical leadership today and potentially people leadership over time.
