The role: 

The Technical Evaluation Service (TES) team seeks a highly structured, technically minded individual to join their dynamic team. As part of the TES team, you will support Solution Engineering (SE) teams across EMEA by delivering complex technical use cases through Proof-of-Value (PoV) engagements.

This role is ideal for individuals with a solid IT foundation, a passion for solving and sharing technical challenges, and a keen interest in identity security and SaaS technologies.

This position offers a clear career development path, providing the opportunity to grow into a senior TES role or transition into a field Solution Engineering (SE) position.

 

Responsibilities: 

Pre-launch Validation

Before the senior TES team is engaged, you will be responsible for verifying that the account team has completed the prerequisites before requesting a PoV.

  • Does the account team thoroughly understand the customer's requirements?
  • Is there a detailed opportunity plan in place?
  • Has the Lead SE had the right level of engagement in the opportunity?
  • Is the opportunity in the right sales stage?
  • Are there clearly defined use cases in place?
  • Do we know all the applications we will need to connect to during the PoV?

Tenant Configuration Support:

Assist the senior TES team with the initial configuration of the tenant before the start date.

  • Request an instance of the tenant from our in-house platform.

  • Perform basic configuration of the tenants and connecting typical applications, including:

    • Virtual Appliance (VA) setup.

    • Integration with Directory and HR systems like MS Entra, Workday, and SuccessFactors.

    • Connection of applications such as SAP (ECC, S/4HANA) and ServiceNow.

Use Case Support:

  • Assist in defining PoV use cases with Lead SEs, ensuring clarity, consistency, and adherence to SMART outcomes.

  • Support the alignment of existing assets to match use cases, reducing redundancy.

Handover

Once the SailPoint tenant has been prepared and the use cases have been validated with the account team, you will hand over the project to the senior TES team, who will manage the more complex use cases. Your continued involvement will be important throughout the PoV, as you will use this opportunity to learn more about the SailPoint platform, but additionally, have a solid understanding of assets that will need collecting and documenting once the PoV is finished, and then can be shared with the wider SE community.

Documentation and Asset Management:

  • Document outputs and assets from PoVs led by senior TES members.

  • Maintain and organise a catalogue of assets for reusability.

  • Enhance existing documentation structures to improve accessibility

Technical Development (Post-Training):

While performing this role, your knowledge of the SailPoint platform will grow, enabling you to undertake additional tasks, starting with smaller ones and progressing to larger ones as you become more comfortable with the platform. You will also work with various external systems and develop your skill level over time, enabling you to perform more advanced configurations.

  • Undertake smaller development tasks such as creating transforms, forms, and workflows under guidance from senior team members.

 Required Skills

  • Selling Skills:

    • Proficient in delivering technical presentations.

    • Understanding of value-selling principles.

  • Project Management Skills:

    • Effective documentation and version control.

    • Ability to define and manage use cases.

  • Technical & Programming Skills:

    • Experience or willingness to learn Linux, Terraform, scripting, and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure).

    • Familiarity with JavaScript, PowerShell, and Java is a plus.

    • Basic knowledge of AI/ML concepts and applications.

Preferred Experience:

  • Background in Identity and Access Management (IAM) or SaaS technologies.

  • Exposure to SaaS companies or a strong understanding of the SaaS model.

Requirements: 

Fluent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English if based in Spain, and German and English if based in Germany

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a pre-sales technical resource in an enterprise software company (B2B) 

  • A working knowledge of technical infrastructure, including web services, application servers, databases, virtualisation, and directories, is required 

  • Conversant in modern SaaS architecture 

  • Familiarity with Java, XML, LDAP, SQL, JSON, Azure/AWS/GCP is desirable 

  • 3+ years working with Identity, Governance and Access Management solutions is preferred 

 

Our ideal candidate possesses: 

1) technical pre-sales experience in complex enterprise environments 

2) a thorough understanding of Identity, Governance, User Administration, and Access Management.

Successful crew members come from diverse experiences such as: technical pre-sales for similar enterprise software solutions, including business process automation, HCM, ITSM, etc.; identity solution delivery (as a customer, system integrator, etc.), and so on.

  • Exceptional organisational & communication skills 

  • High EQ 

  • Expertise in discovering customer requirements 

  • The ability to articulate and demonstrate enterprise solutions aligned to business outcomes. 

 

Location: 

  • Preferably UK, Spain or Germany.

 

Education: 

  • Preferred, not required: BA/BS or global equivalent 

  • 5 years of related experience
