We are looking for a Systems Engineer to take ownership of the administration, maintenance, and optimisation of our infrastructure environment. This is an opportunity to work across a varied technology stack, supporting both Windows and Linux platforms while ensuring high availability, operational efficiency, and system resilience. You will play a key role in troubleshooting complex technical issues, implementing improvements, and supporting the ongoing evolution of our infrastructure.

About the Role

As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of infrastructure platforms and supporting technologies. Working closely with internal teams and external vendors, you will help maintain secure, reliable, and scalable systems while contributing to infrastructure design and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and monitor Windows and Linux operating systems and supporting infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Ensure the highest levels of system and infrastructure availability through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
  • Monitor application performance, identify bottlenecks, and work with development teams to implement effective solutions.
  • Maintain security controls, backup solutions, and redundancy strategies, including NetBackup.
  • Develop and maintain scripts to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Contribute to the design and enhancement of information and operational support systems.
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support for infrastructure-related issues.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal IT teams to resolve technical problems and improve service delivery.
What We're Looking ForEssential Experience
  • 3 years of network administration-level work experience.
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows and Linux environments.
  • Solid experience administering EMC and major SAN solutions.
  • Experience with VMware/ESX administration and configuration.
  • Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies, including Docker.
  • Experience with monitoring tools including Zabbix and Nagios.
  • Experience with automation platforms such as SaltStack and Puppet.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure availability, performance monitoring, and systems administration best practices.
  • Currently hold or be able to attain SC/NPPV3 clearance.
Nice to have
  • Experience in Telecommunications, Technology, or complex B2B services environments.
Hours / Travel / Shift

Normal Office Hours. Remote with flexibility to travel as and when required for customer/team meetings.
