Why you will love this job?
  • You’ll shape the product, not just design it. With no product managers, design leads the work. You’ll drive direction, own decisions, and collaborate directly with engineers who care about quality.
  • You’ll work on everything. From redesigning legacy tools to launching new features and improving design systems. Your work will shape how the platform feels end to end.
  • You’ll help define the design culture. You’re joining early and will set the standard for how we work.
Why you will love being a part of Testlio?
  • Great Culture: Testlio is a female-founded company, and half our team identifies as women. We’re proud of our inclusive, purpose-driven culture where people genuinely enjoy collaborating. As part of our team (we call ourselves TestLions), you’ll help create exceptional digital experiences for our customers, while also contributing to our freelance network and social impact initiatives like Ignite.
  • Remote Work: Our culture is built around remote work. We’ve created systems to allow us to successfully work together asynchronously as a fully remote and globally distributed team. Testlio provides the tools and guidance for everyone to succeed in their careers in a fully remote setting. Our working style encourages everyone to make decisions, communicate effectively, and work at a sustainable pace.
  • Investment in You: Your growth and well-being matter to us. You’ll have flexible paid time off—including national holidays, personal days, and sick days—plus stock options so you can grow with Testlio. We also provide a $300 annual learning stipend to support your personal and professional development.
  • Winning Business: Testlio is growing, profitable, and cash-strong. We are leading our industry with exceptional clients who provide us with a high NPS score and a 4.7 rating on G2. Our business model is global, enterprise, and subscription-based. Several of our largest clients have been with us for 7+ years, and many spend $500K+/year with Testlio.
What would your day look like?
  • Leading cross-functional discussions to define product functionality and user flows.
  • Making strategic product decisions alongside engineering.
  • Crafting high-fidelity, production-ready designs that meet both user and business needs, with strong attention to detail, visual polish, and usability.
  • Prototyping and iterating on new features to explore ideas and validate interactions
  • Creating clear, useful documentation to support implementation and ensure alignment, helping to foster a culture of constructive critique and iteration.
  • Collaborating with engineers to refine edge cases, ensure feasibility, and uphold design quality.
  • You’ll evolve our design system to support scalability and consistency across the platform.
What do you need to succeed?

Technical Skills

  • Extensive Design Experience: 7+ years in product design, with a portfolio showing end-to-end ownership of complex products, especially in B2B SaaS.
  • Design Systems Expertise: Proven expertise in building and scaling design systems, evolving them without creating overhead.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong collaboration with engineering teams, with the ability to communicate design intent clearly and effectively.
  • User-Centered Design: Confident application of UX principles to deliver user-focused solutions, balancing experience, intuition, and established patterns over formal research when appropriate.

Human Skills

  • Strategic mindset to connect design decisions with product and business outcomes.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous situations, proactively driving projects forward without complete information.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, with openness to feedback and critical questions.
  • Leadership through context and example, setting high standards through individual contributions and collaboration.
  • Curiosity and commitment to continuous learning, staying up to date with tools and trends in design systems, front-end development, and AI.
What is the application process?

We do our best to bring on individuals who will be excited about their role and have the potential for a great future with Testlio. Since we are 100% distributed, we’d like you to meet with multiple people from our organization to give you an idea of who you would be working with, your role expectations, etc. Our interview process can take about 3 to 4 weeks to complete.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
