About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in the APAC region. You will prepare and review financial documents, oversee accounting procedures, and provide financial advice on budgeting and cash flow management, supporting the overall financial health of the company.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage Local Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on the latest accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws applicable to the company's operations in India. Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, including income tax, goods and services tax (GST), and other relevant regulations.
  • Tax Planning and Filings: Prepare and submit tax returns, including income tax, GST, and other tax filings, in a timely manner. Coordinate with external tax consultants, if necessary, to ensure accurate and efficient tax planning and compliance.
  • Government Reporting and Filings: Handle all necessary government filings, such as annual financial statements, financial reports, and other regulatory submissions required by local authorities or regulatory bodies.
  • Statutory Audits: Collaborate with external auditors and assist in the completion of annual statutory audits, providing required financial information, supporting documents, and explanations as necessary.
  • Financial Accounting: Perform day-to-day financial accounting tasks, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and implement internal control procedures to safeguard company assets, prevent fraud, and ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial information.
  • Liaison with Government Authorities: Act as the point of contact for government authorities, tax officers, and regulatory bodies regarding financial and tax matters. Respond to queries, resolve issues, and maintain good relationships with relevant stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously review accounting processes and systems, identifying opportunities for streamlining, automation, and efficiency improvements. Recommend and implement changes to enhance financial operations.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain organized and up-to-date records, ensuring all financial documents, contracts, and supporting materials are properly filed and readily accessible.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, or related field, required.
  • At least 2 years of related experience required.
  • Strong aptitude for math.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Expert proficiency in excel
  • Power Query & Power BI is preferred advantage
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Broad knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
  • The ability to be communicative and comfortable talking on the phone, via email, or face-to-face
