We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect – Data Focus to join our innovative team in London, United Kingdom.
This is a hands-on architecture role for someone who brings deep expertise in data and database design, but who also operates as a solution architect across projects and pre-sales. They'’ll lead architecture work in both client-facing delivery and earlier phases like discovery and opportunity shaping—always with a sharp lens on how to manage and leverage data.
They'll be the person the team turns to for strategic thinking around data flows, storage, security, analytics platforms, and the architectural design of data-heavy systems.
- Architectural Leadership
Develop and own solution architectures, especially for projects with complex data requirements.
Ensure all designs meet Endava and client standards for performance, security, and scalability.
Translate non-functional requirements (NFRs) into technical designs.
Data Strategy & Design
Lead on data architecture direction—covering modelling, database strategy, data flows, and integration patterns.
Guide data governance, retention, and compliance practices (e.g., GDPR, ISO standards).
Technical Design & Development Oversight
Define storage, publishing, and metadata strategies to support analytics and operational goals.
Shape database schemas, data warehouse strategies, and ensure data platforms are fit-for-purpose.
Collaboration & Influence
Work with business analysts, engineers, delivery leads, and client teams to ensure that solutions are fit for purpose.
Take part in architectural assurance, peer reviews, and quality control.
Provide coaching and mentoring within Architecture & Data communities.
Pre-Sales & Discovery Support
Shape architecture for bids, helping define technical scope, estimation, and feasibility.
Advise sales and account leads on data-driven components of client solutions.
• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, with 7+ years in data architecture and solution design, and a history of large-scale data solution implementation.
• Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of data architecture principles, big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark), and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Data Management Skills: Advanced proficiency in data modelling, SQL/NoSQL databases, ETL processes, and data integration techniques.
• Programming & Tools: Strong skills in Python or Java, with experience in data visualization tools and relevant programming frameworks.
• Governance & Compliance: Solid understanding of data governance, security, privacy best practices, and data privacy laws, particularly GDPR.
• Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal abilities, with a strong team-oriented mindset.
• Certifications & Industry Insight: Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS or Azure Solutions Architect) are desirable; familiarity with industry-specific data challenges and regulations.
