About STATSports:

What if the product you helped to build next week was worn by an elite athlete the week after?

At STATSports, that could be your reality.

Since 2007, we’ve grown from a small Irish start-up into the global leader in GPS performance tracking, trusted by the world’s biggest clubs, leagues, and athletes. Our technology sits at the intersection of hardware, software, and sport, helping teams optimise performance, reduce injury risk, and unlock insights that were previously impossible.

But just as importantly, our products support the next generation of athletes, from academies to grassroots, giving them access to the same performance tools as the pros.

Innovation has always driven us forward, and it’s our people who make that happen.

The opportunity:

We are looking for a Software QA Engineer to join our QA Department. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality of both new features being added to the product and existing functionality are implemented correctly as per the specification. This will be done via both manual testing and the creation and maintenance of automated test cases to validate the feature set.

The software QA Engineer will work closely with the product, development & UI/UX teams to understand the new features and to provide input into the testing performed. The successful candidate will also need to have a technical mindset and enjoy working in a fast team environment.

If you’re passionate about quality, enjoy collaborating with engineers, and like being close to the product, this role will suit you.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You’ll be a key part of our QA testing team, contributing to all phases of the software test lifecycle, including functional and non-functional testing, as well as security across new and existing products.

  • Create and maintain manual and automated test cases and suites.

  • Identify, track and manage defects through the testing lifecycle.

  • Mobile/Web/Desktop testing across various applications.

  • Contribute to test planning for appropriate products.

  • Define and produce QA reports for defects and test execution reports

  • Collaborate with other teams to support and deliver our software solutions.

  • Participate in scrum activities and actively support product owners and assigned product teams.

What we’re looking for:

You’ll likely enjoy this role if you:

  • At least 2 years of experience working in a QA software testing role with hands-on experience in supporting test execution in mobile, web and desktop applications

  • Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Knowledge of creating automated test cases using Selenium

  • Previous experience using JIRA as a defect tracking system

  • Proven ability to adhere to QA processes including creating and maintaining test cases and suites using TestRail

  • Proficient with testing RESTful API’s using Postman

  • Ability to collaborate with various teams

Nice to have (but not essential):

  • Knowledge of the following AWS cloud platform services: DynamoDB, Cognito, Lambda, CloudWatch

What’s in it for you:

  • A key role in delivering high-quality software used in elite sport

  • The opportunity to influence quality practices and test strategy across products

  • Exposure to a broad technology stack across web, mobile, and desktop platforms

  • Collaboration with experienced engineers, product owners, and stakeholders

  • A team culture that values learning, ownership, and shared success

  • The chance to see your work support athletes and teams at the very top of their game

If you’re passionate about quality and want your work to have a real-world impact in sport, we’d love to hear from you.

Equal opportunity employer:

STATSports is an equal opportunity employer. If you feel you would be a great addition to the team and are excited by the prospect of forging an impactful career with us, we would love to hear from you. We would particularly welcome applications from women and underrepresented groups.

No one wins unless everyone wins!

We believe that diverse teams have the greatest impact, so we really care about creating a diverse and inclusive environment. At STATSports, no one wins unless everyone wins, so we’re focused on creating a team where everyone feels they belong. We welcome people from all backgrounds, with different perspectives, ideas and experiences to work with us. If you do, you'll be joining an environment where everyone has an equal opportunity to share their opinion, showcase their skills, develop their career and be part of a caring and inclusive team.

Why STATSports:

We’re still a small business that happens to be the world leader in our field, which means you can be a part of something big. Working at STATSports, you’ll have a real impact and see directly how the day-to-day work you do makes a difference in sport at the elite level.

You’ll collaborate with a world-class team and be given the freedom to innovate, create and deliver at the highest level. If this excites you, then we would love to hear from you!

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
