We're looking for a creative and proactive Communications & Social Media Coordinator to join our growing EU team. In this exciting dual role, you will support our communications strategies while also playing a pivotal role in developing our social media presence. Reporting to our European communications leadership, you’ll help shape Navan’s brand perception, elevate our executive thought leadership, and enhance audience engagement across multiple channels.

The ideal candidate is a versatile communicator, passionate about digital storytelling, media engagement, and social media community-building. You thrive in collaborative, dynamic environments, remain up-to-date with evolving trends, and have a keen eye for detail and quality content.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work closely with the Communications team to proactively identify storytelling opportunities, support media outreach, and position Navan as a leader in the travel management and expense industries
  • Assist in managing the communications editorial calendar, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders (Product, Sales, Data, and Operations) to source compelling narratives and data for stories.
  • Support the creation of written content such as press releases, blogs, briefing documents, executive articles, data-driven stories, opinion pieces, and other communication materials.
  • Contribute to competitive tracking, monitoring media coverage, industry insights, and trends analysis that help inform and enhance our communication strategies.
  • Help coordinate submissions for awards and speaking opportunities to build the visibility and thought leadership of our executives and brand.
  • Support the implementation of Navan’s EU social media strategy aimed at boosting brand awareness, audience engagement, social community growth, and driving product consideration.
  • Moderate and proactively engage with social media channels, interacting thoughtfully with customers, media, influencers, and general audiences to enhance community sentiment and brand trust.
  • Monitor social performance analytics on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis, interpreting insights clearly and providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, digital storytelling methods, new social media technologies, and platform developments, bringing new, innovative social ideas for improvement.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Approx. 2-4 years of relevant experience in communications, PR, or social media coordination roles, either in-house or in an agency, and ideally working with B2B technology, high-growth startups, or fintech/travel sectors (open to relevant backgrounds).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, comfortable developing content tailored to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity and hands-on experience with digital and social platforms, scheduling tools (e.g., Sprinklr, Hootsuite), and basic performance analytics tools.
  • Highly organized and proactive multitasker; comfortable juggling multiple projects and collaborating closely with different stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • An intuitive grasp of digital marketing trends, enthusiastic about media relations, social media community interactions, and audience-focused communications.
  • Comfort with analyzing data and reporting outcomes clearly to inform ongoing strategic planning.
  • Tech-savvy, with strong proficiency working with platforms such as Google Suite and Excel; familiarity with design or basic video tools (Photoshop, Canva) is helpful but not required.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
