As a Senior Web/UX Design Engineer at WunderGraph, you bridge the gap between design and engineering. You combine creative problem-solving and technical execution to deliver elegant, scalable, and performant digital experiences. You thrive on crafting solutions that balance user needs, design quality, and engineering feasibility—bringing ideas from concept to production.

You are fluent in both design systems and front-end technologies, enabling you to not only design intuitive interfaces but also contribute directly to implementation and technical decisions. Your approach is iterative, collaborative, and pragmatic, with a clear focus on delivering impact for users and the business. With your curiosity and craftsmanship, you inspire teammates while raising the standard of what great product experiences can be.

  • Champion accessibility, usability, performance, and responsive design best practices.

  • Represent the team in cross-functional workshops and external thought leadership.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Senior-level experience in Design Engineering, Product, or UX/UI Design with a strong portfolio of projects.

  • Proficiency in Figma, prototyping tools, and Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Working knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML/CSS, JavaScript a plus).

  • Strong background in UX research, accessibility, responsive design, and performance optimization.

  • Experience contributing to or leading design systems and component libraries.

  • Ability to bridge design and engineering with hands-on contributions.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
