These are the same core ideas we want to extend to our customers who visit and use our ecommerce-enabled product website. This is a senior, high-impact role, and the person who takes it will build the practice, process, and standards that define UX at Neat going forward.
As a senior User Experience Designer, you will work closely with our product and design teams to translate those core design principles and experiences to the website and various digital experiences. Our devices cut through the noise of modern technology, and our website has to do the same.
The brand is built around simplicity and clarity, and as such, we're not afraid of space. We'd rather remove a section than add one, and we care about the small things: the weight of a line of type, the pace of a scroll, the moment a product first comes into view. Every detail is considered. Our name sets a standard, and every page has to live up to it.
This role is for someone who can see the big picture and how it all ties together. You'll have real ownership and be responsible for directing the user experience on the website, setting the direction rather than following one, and ensuring it meets the same standards that our devices bring to our customers.
The work you do here will naturally bleed out to the rest of the organization, across marketing, customer service, support, and other areas. You will define the standards and hold others accountable to them, even outside your direct team. You'll be inheriting a brand that's been carefully built and carefully kept: calm, precise, Nordic, and unmistakably Neat in a category that mostly shouts or imitates.
What you'll doOwn the UX direction for the website as a whole, setting the standard other work is measured against.
Establish the UX processes, rituals, and standards for web, including design reviews, research cadence, and a shared design language.
Act as the senior voice for web UX across the company.
Lead UX for major product launches on the website, from early concept through to launch day.
Lead design for our evolving ecommerce experience, from browsing and product pages through checkout.
Work closely with the product marketing team to own and build a consistent narrative on the neat.no website.
Turn ambiguous problems into clear user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity UX designs.
Partner with product managers and engineers to balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
Relevant education (bachelor's or higher) in UX/interaction design or a related field, or equivalent experience.
9+ years of UX design experience, including senior-level ownership of complex web products and experience establishing or leveling up UX practice within a team or organization.
A strong portfolio showcasing real-world ecommerce or high-traffic consumer web experience design. Experience presenting technology products in a simple, uncomplicated way is a big plus.
Experience with UX and interaction design across mobile, web, and desktop.
Proficient in wireframing, prototyping, and visualization tools such as Figma, Sketch, or the Adobe Suite.
Professional experience working on UX or UI design projects within multidisciplinary teams.
Expertise in content architecture and information design to improve website navigation.
Comfort working directly with engineers, with a good instinct for what's feasible to build.
Experience running and applying user research, not just producing deliverables from it.
Strong stakeholder management skills, comfortable influencing senior leadership and driving alignment across teams that don't report to you.
Clear communication skills. You can explain and defend a design decision as well as you can make one.
A calm, collaborative approach to feedback and ambiguity, balanced with the confidence to push back when the work calls for it.
Experience designing for hardware or physical products alongside digital ones.
Background in design systems at scale.
Experience in video conferencing, collaboration tools, or B2B hardware.
