Overview:
At Tessian, we protect the human layer in email security. As a Threat Intelligence Researcher, you’ll play a critical role in analyzing and understanding advanced email threats, uncovering attacker tactics, and strengthening the defenses that keep our customers safe. You’ll bring a threat intelligence background combined with technical expertise and curiosity to stay ahead of evolving attacks. In this role, you’ll have a direct impact on Tessian’s products while working closely with Data Science, Engineering, and the Threat Intelligence Lead as part of a growing cross-functional team.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze advanced email attacks to understand the tactics and techniques used to bypass defenses.
Translate insights from malicious emails into new detections using our threat intelligence infrastructure.
Label and categorize threats to support research and refine our detections.
Collaborate closely with other engineering teams to improve detection accuracy and efficacy.
Partner with the Inbound Product team to enhance the customer experience and response workflows.
Write code in Python and use SQL to query and interpret datasets.
Contribute to internal blogs and briefings, sharing emerging threats and showcasing the team’s work across the organization.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience in a security-focused role with, ideally with experience in an email security field.
Ability to break down ambiguous problems into structured, actionable solutions.
Hands-on skills with Python and SQL for analysis and research.
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Enjoyment for solving complex challenges.
Clear communicator with a professional presence, who takes a high degree of ownership over their work.
Has strong listening skills; open to input from other team members and departments.
Works well in a team environment and has strong collaboration skills.
