Ideally, you have a wide set of skills, including markdown and advanced Atlassian suite (primarily Confluence with plug-ins and macros). You are a motivated self-starter, who is well-versed in technical documentation in the Financial Technology (FinTech) industry.

You are creative, organized, and deliver quickly in iterations. Drafting content live in working sessions with subject matter experts (such as product managers and software developers) does not daunt you, and you know how to approach various types of people.

Your work is consistent, concise, and clear. Not only are you an excellent writer, but you are also an astute editor, and you understand content flow, hierarchy, taxonomy, and formatting so that users can easily find exactly what they need. You know how to tell a story in the shortest, most impactful way, speaking directly to target audience and markets.

Principal Responsibilities:

We are seeking a mid/senior-level professional to create internal and client-facing documentation, which clearly explains how to use our products, offers access to support, informs the interactive courses we build, and provides weekly enhancement/release updates. Our objective is to empower, engage, and delight clients so they are self-reliant. We also are tasked with raising the collective intelligence of our employees so that we can best resolve client inquiries and build and sell software as effectively and efficiently as possible.

You will also participate in a variety of projects, some of which will be your brainchild, on this team of technical writers, instructional designers, and developers. Your objective is to empower people via technical and product knowledge, and you may accomplish this, for example, via written documentation, video, webinars, and innovative learning resources that unlock the full potential of our unified platform. You’ll work with members across the firm, including people in our Technology, Product, and Client Services organizations.

You will have full access to SMEs (subject matter experts) as you learn and document our suite of products. We create a full set of new content and training materials as well as curate existing content. We are also working closely with our UX/UI team to embed our content in the CWAN platform, extend AI capabilities, develop an API portal, and create technical Python/Jupyter Notebooks sandbox learning platforms.

You will assist with conducting needs assessments based on user persona to assure we are creating apt solutions, and you will participate in analysis to confirm, revise, and track our approach. Working with your teammates, you will contribute to our design strategy, wiki style guide, acronym and jargon guide, and video library.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
