About Zego

At Zego, we know that traditional motor insurance holds good drivers back. It’s too complicated, too expensive, and it doesn't take into account how well you actually drive.

That’s why, since 2016, we’ve been on a mission to change all of that. Our mission at Zego is to offer the lowest priced insurance for good drivers.

From van drivers and gig workers to everyday car drivers, our customers are our driving force — they’re at the heart of everything we do.

We’ve sold tens of millions of policies so far, and raised over $200 million in funding. And we’re only just getting started.

About the role

We’re looking for a dynamic Senior Talent Acquisition Manager to lead hiring across our Engineering and Data functions. In this role, you’ll shape and deliver strategies that attract exceptional technical talent, elevate our employer brand, and create a best-in-class candidate and hiring manager experience. You’ll act as a trusted partner to senior engineering leaders, ensuring every hire raises the bar and strengthens our culture. Please note: This is a 12 month maternity cover contract

What you'll be working on
  • Partner with Engineering and Data leadership to understand workforce plans, shape hiring strategies, and deliver high-quality, diverse shortlists of exceptional talent.
  • Own the full recruitment lifecycle – from role scoping and proactive sourcing (LinkedIn, referrals, communities) through to assessment, offer, and onboarding – ensuring pace, rigour, and an excellent experience for all stakeholders.
  • Use hiring data and insights to continuously refine sourcing strategies, improve funnel efficiency, and influence decision-making with clear metrics and reporting.
  • Lead and nurture external agency partnerships to ensure aligned briefs, timely updates, and an outstanding candidate journey.
  • Champion Zego’s employer brand across engineering and data communities, leveraging storytelling, social content, and outreach to build awareness and attract top talent.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the hiring process through automation and AI-driven tools that improve efficiency and candidate quality.
  • Deliver a consistent, world-class experience for candidates and hiring managers, fostering transparency, inclusivity, and excellence at every stage.
What you'll need to be successful
  • You’re well-rounded: You’ve built trusted partnerships with Engineering leaders, hiring the kind of talent that drives innovation, accelerates delivery, and strengthens team performance
  • You work at pace: You thrive in start-up or scale-up environments, balancing speed with quality and adapting quickly as priorities evolve.
  • You know what great looks like: You set a high bar for talent and take pride in building teams that raise the performance, diversity, and ambition of the organisation.
  • You know how to measure success: You’re data-driven and analytical, using insights and metrics to show the tangible impact of hiring decisions on team performance and business outcomes.
  • You’re always one step ahead: You build and maintain future-fit talent pipelines, proactively engaging top candidates and ensuring Zego is ready to hire ahead of demand.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
