Job Description

A bit about the job

We’re looking for an excellent Senior Strategist. This could be an ideal next move to client-side for a Planner / Strategist in a creative agency, or an in-house Strategist wanting to experience the world of fintech.

Based in our Marketing Insights & Planning team, you will partner with our in-house Creative and Media teams to deliver world-class creative and marketing strategies. Based out of our London office, this is a global role – you will be working across brand and performance marketing campaigns across the UK, Europe, the Americas, and APAC.

As a Senior Strategist, you will have a good understanding of the full marketing funnel and comms mix. We are looking for someone who is comfortable overseeing work delivered through traditional channels (e.g. TV, OOH, PR) as well as a keen understanding of paid social, paid display, and influencers.

You are experienced in bringing creative and media teams together, delivering strategies and creative outputs that are appropriate for the specific channel. You’re comfortable partnering with media owners, creatives, copywriters, and designers to oversee and develop creative work. You love the craft of planning – getting under the skin of consumers, how they interact with our category, and translating that into coherent strategies.

What you’ll be doing

  • Partnering with in-house and agency creative and media teams to prepare compelling briefs and oversee the development of creative – ensuring it’s fit for channel / marketing funnel

  • Conducting in-depth consumer research and creative testing through quant and qualitative methods, interviews, and desktop analysis – converting findings into actionable insights

  • Understanding the profiles, behaviours and motivations of our target customers and socialising this information with the wider Marketing tribe – to help get to compelling marketing plans and creative work

  • Diving into the impact of campaigns and creative on commercial metrics, and helping stakeholders understand how to optimise creative moving forward

  • Understanding the requirements of specific markets and partnering with Regional Leads to deliver on regional marketing plans

Qualifications

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-moving environment

  • Experience working for global brands across multiple markets

  • Proven track record in delivering impactful strategies for brands/clients (especially Tech, Finance, or B2B)

  • Understanding of the full marketing funnel and how marketing / creative work should flex at each stage to drive commercial results

  • Experience in briefing and overseeing the development of creative ideas across a range of channels, from ATL through to social, display, and influencers

Additional Information

What’s in it for you?

You’ll be part of a team of exceptionally talented marketers who consistently break new ground in the way they engage customers.

Within Wise we operate in a flat structure, you’ll be in charge of your own workload and focus areas, giving you the chance to have a huge impact in one of the UK’s fastest growing & most successful startups.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
