Department OverviewThe TETRA Devices Software Engineering organization, a key component of the TETRA Devices business segment at Motorola Solutions, consists of a diverse group of product architects, solutions architects, software engineers and test engineers. We are situated across various global locations, working collaboratively to develop next-generation solutions that serve our mission critical customers. The TETRA Devices Software Team follows modern software development practices such as continuous integration/continuous deployment, DevOps, component-level and system-level automated testing. We use Agile methodologies to organize our work and we are responsible for end-to-end software development life-cycle. As a TETRA Device Software Team member, you will be responsible for delivering uncompromising quality solutions for a customer base that demands the highest level of assurance that their needs will be served with the products and solutions you develop.
Job Description
We're looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Software Tester Team Lead to guide our quality assurance process. You will be responsible for defining test cases, overseeing test execution, and ensuring the team identifies and verifies all defects to prevent them from reaching our users.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in software quality assurance, is familiar with multiple programming languages, and has a keen eye for detail. We are looking for a leader who is committed to excellence in software quality and can inspire their team to achieve it.
Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of manual and automated testers.
Oversee the creation and execution of test plans and test cases from product requirements.
Guide the team in defect identification, tracking, and resolution.
Define and implement automated testing processes to enhance testing efficiency.
Collaborate with development leads, test managers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of testing into the software development lifecycle.
Stay current with industry trends, new testing methodologies, and tools.
Support the Test Manager in achieving strategic goals for the QA team.
Provide technical guidance, documentation, and training to both the test team and other business functions.
Basic Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Significant experience in Quality Assurance testing, with a proven track record of leadership.
Working knowledge of test management software (e.g., ALM).
Strong understanding of Agile frameworks and regression testing.
Familiarity with automated testing methodologies and various programming languages.
Exceptional attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
Experience in triage and prioritization of issues.
Bonus: A background in networking or server installations.
