Technical Skills:

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these will set you up for success in this team:

  • Good programming skills in one or more languages e.g.  Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., TeamCity, GitHub, Jenkins)
  • Good understanding of API testing, microservices, and cloud-native architectures (preferably AWS).
  • Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Splunk, Observe, CloudWatch)
  • Deep knowledge of test automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Devtest, Appium, Sahi).
  • Solid grasp of DevSecOps, SDLC best practices, and release governance.
  • Use of AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Roo code) to accelerate everyday development/testing tasks.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
