What makes this role exciting and challenging
Our SET team builds robust and scalable test automation solutions to produce faster and stable releases. We focus on the setup and maintenance of test frameworks along with the creation of pipelines that run under CI/CD model. The team closely collaborates with developers and testers to increase code's testability and improve the deliverables' quality.
As part of your everyday responsibilities, you will:The role includes close collaboration with Product owners, QAs, Dev, DevOps, and Security teams to ensure Test Automation best practices, code quality, increase the testability of code, and improve the quality of the deliverables by continuous regression testing.
- Ticket analysis and test planning
- Development of automation tests based on ACs
- Support/Implement the deployment process of test environments and be able to debug them
- Conduct code reviews following best engineering practices and coding standards
- Execute complete software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Responsible for the CI/CD (build, test, deploy)
- Set up and maintain test automation framework & infrastructure
- Assist in the setup & maintenance of the security pipelines (checkmark, nowsecure, etc)
- Responsible for generating Automated Test Reports
- Implement supporting scripts and tools for Developers and QA Engineers
RequirementsKey qualifications for your success
- University-level degree (at postgraduate level is a plus) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a relevant field of study
- Minimum 4 years of experience working as a Software Engineer in Test, Developer, or DevOps
- Testing mentality
- Ability to code in at least some of the following programming languages: Java, Groovy
- Experience in applying automation frameworks using the following tools: Junit, Spock Mockito, TestNG, or similar
- Experience in testing and developing Web services (REST or SOAP)
- A good appreciation of coding standards, and design best practices and a keen desire to apply them
- Ability to apply the test pyramid during Software Development Lifecycle
- Experience in estimating, planning, and coordinating test activities
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal)
- Growth Mindset (Manage change, Accept feedback, Resilience, Flexible behavior)
- Competence to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in virtualization, cloud solutions, and infrastructure as code (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Azure, AWS, GCP, Ansible)
- Good experience with CI/CD tools and practices (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Travis, Circle CI, Gitlab CI)
- Experience writing cross-browser/device automation frameworks leveraging Sauce Labs and/or Browserstack would be preferred
- Open source projects or contributions
- A DevOps mentality with experience in Linux distribution, and deployments
