The role
As an engineer at Capture One you will be making an impact on software that is used every day, by thousands of photographers around the world creating astounding images. You will be part of a collaborative, customer obsessed, international team revolutionizing industry using state of the art technology across desktop, mobile, cloud and AI solutions.
You will be part of our Platform and Data team that is at the beginning of a data warehouse project with a twofold goal: to harvest data from multiple sources and transform it into actionable insights that can be used to drive tangible business decisions, and to democratize the use of these insights across the organization to maximize impact. Moreover, the team is responsible for the company’s Authentication and Authorization system and for building and optimizing critical user journeys that define our product's user experience.
As a Senior Software Engineer within the Platform and Data team, you will be designing and developing (1) data products, collaborating closely with business stakeholders and (2) microservices on top of our modern cloud stack.
What you will do
- Design, implement and maintain scalable, efficient and reliable products and microservices, covering cloud, system and data architecture.
- Deliver high-quality, testable, and demoable increments every sprint. Lead the validation and review of team deliverables.
- Drive continuous improvement in technical aspects and challenge the status quo to maximize customer value and team impact.
- Foster technical excellence across critical project pipelines, balancing robust architecture, risk awareness and alignment with product and engineering priorities.
- Work closely with other Software engineers, Product managers and designers, BI analysts and QA specialists.
- Implement and maintain monitoring solutions to ensure high availability and reliability of services.
- Design and develop automated test suites for unit, integration, and functional testing.
What we are looking for
- University degree in computer science or software engineering.
- Experience in data engineering, SQL, ETL processes, and working with databases or data warehouses.
- Experience in designing and implementing full stack cloud-based applications, ideally using NodeJS and JavaScript/TypeScript or have used other popular object-oriented programming languages like C#/Swift/ObjC.
- Experience with Continuous Delivery, Telemetry/Analytics, Test Driven Development.
- Familiar with Microsoft Azure, Azure functions, SQL Server, Cosmos DB, Azure Data Factory and Power BI.
- Detail-focused and communicative, eager to tackle challenges and learn new tools and technologies within agile teams.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbally.
