Business Banking Technology (BB Tech) is responsible for the world-leading application of technology and operations across every aspect of CommBank – from innovative product platforms for our customers, to essential tools within our business. We also use technology to drive simplicity and better banking, an essential component of great customer service underpinning a strong emphasis on software development as a craft and the adoption of industry best engineering practices.
You’ll be part of a wider BB Tech team integrated in the Everyday Business Banking Domain. The crew is actively building a cutting-edge billing and pricing platform, designed to offer a simplified, transparent and customer-centric experience.

Pride themselves in their ability to design, develop, and maintain software applications using React, .NET, and AWS technologies.
Are knowledgeable in leading API development and integration efforts, ensuring seamless data flow and system interaction.
Are constantly collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
Are comfortable in supporting a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
Are constantly completing conduct code reviews and mentoring junior team members, promoting best practices and continuous learning.
Are comfortable working closely with product management to ensure alignment with business requirements and objectives.
Are able to troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Implement robust security measures, data protection strategies, and fail-safe redundancy features.
Tech skills:
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;
Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer, with a strong focus on React, .NET, and AWS.
Knowledge of Databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, Mongo DB or Postgress.
Extensive experience with REST API development and integration.
Technical experience in digital channels and customer experience.
Solid technical knowledge in building data integration, microservices and workflow automation using AWS or Azure.
Experience in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, logging, and monitoring tools such as GitHub, GitHub Actions
Knowledge of IaC using CloudFormation and containerisation with Docker or Kubernetes
Ability to build solutions to meet the highest possible quality standards while simultaneously balancing security, performance, availability, and maintainability concerns.
