As a Senior Software Engineer within our Fraud Tech squad, you will contribute to the design, development and ongoing care of Java based solutions that underpin our fraud and financial crime platforms. You will work closely with product, engineering and delivery partners, sharing ideas, learning together and contributing across the full software development lifecycle using modern engineering and DevOps practices.
This role is well suited to an experienced engineer who enjoys working through complex challenges with others, takes pride in delivering quality outcomes, and values collaboration, learning and continuous improvement within an agile environment.
Ko tō mahi | What you’ll do
Design, develop, test and maintain integrated solutions that support fraud and financial crime platforms.
Contribute to the delivery of secure, scalable and high quality Java applications using modern engineering practices.
Collaborate with peers through code reviews, supporting shared learning and consistently high engineering standards.
Partner with product and delivery teams to understand requirements and contribute to solution design and technical decisions.
Create and maintain clear, accessible technical documentation that supports shared understanding across teams.
Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, retrospectives and continuous improvement activities.
Support the investigation and resolution of complex technical issues through thoughtful troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Guide and support junior engineers, contributing to a culture of mentoring, learning and knowledge sharing.
Contribute ideas to improve platform operations, tooling and ways of working.
Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
Extensive experience in Java development, with at least 8 plus years working with Spring Boot in real world environments.
Experience building and consuming REST APIs in collaborative environments.
A strong understanding of clean code practices, testing and secure software development.
Experience working within Agile Scrum teams, with a focus on continuous delivery and shared ownership.
Experience designing and maintaining integrations with third party systems and APIs.
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk.
Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes is desirable.
Exposure to Jenkins or CloudBees and Terraform, with an understanding of infrastructure as code, is beneficial.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on collaboration, documentation and inclusive teamwork.
