The summary above was generated by AI

Datadog's internal service platform handles all the underlying frameworks and tooling abstractions for building, deploying, and operating services at Datadog via golden paths. It ensures developers can fully focus on implementing business logic without extra burden and context by abstracting away the complexity of underlying infrastructure systems through an easy-to-use unified developer experience. This internal platform abstracts common problems away from engineers, making it easier and faster for teams to release new features and products. We have only just started on our mission to become the de facto internal platform for developers creating new services, where we aim to provide a unified developer platform that will help to accelerate business velocity to allow Datadog to maintain a competitive edge by delivering features faster.
At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships that it builds, the creativity it brings to the table, and the collaboration of being together. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our employees can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.
What You'll Do:

  • Build internal tooling and frameworks that empower engineering teams at Datadog to develop, release, and manage various types of applications that power the Datadog product.
  • Codify proven practices to improve developer experience and service reliability.
  • Explore new ways to strengthen, automate, deploy, and manage the internal service platform at Datadog-scale, helping define the future and drive our vision
  • Empower engineering teams to self-service, self-report day-to-day operations of application services through tooling and automation.
  • Design and implement new solutions that will help every Datadog engineer create, test, and release new code to our production systems.
  • Work closely with engineers on product and Infra teams to enable new functionality and roll it out transparently for all services.

Who You Are:

  • You have significant experience contributing to a software engineering team
  • You are passionate about developer experience and reducing the cognitive load on engineers by automating and abstracting trivial tasks, ultimately increasing developer velocity and efficiency
  • You have experience building internal developer tools that help the company grow through standardized SDLC processes.
  • You value correctness and efficiency; you leave no stone unturned when diagnosing production issues
  • You are fully fluent in Python or Golang

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you're passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.
Benefits and Growth:

  • New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP)
  • Continuous professional development, product training, and career pathing

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
