PeopleCert is looking for a talented Senior Software Developer who will be part of our Software Development Team, which consists of more than 100 members, who design and develop applications that support & manage our certification exams, conducted 24x7 worldwide. Our applications are web based, build on cloud (Azure) based web services/applications using various technologies including JavaScript, Redis, oAuth, .Net, SQL server etc, iOS & android native app development and video streaming.

As a Senior Software Developer, your tasks will include the following:

  • Software Development: Actively participate the execution of the full software development lifecycle. Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code using advanced tools like GitHub Copilot. Ensure comprehensive documentation in line with PeopleCert standards.
  • Project Leadership: Take a proactive role in project planning and design. Monitor project progress closely, provide strategic guidance, and report daily on the status of tasks to both management and project management teams via Wrike.
  • Advanced Quality Assurance: Oversee unit testing and preliminary debugging to ensure optimal functionality. Act as a primary liaison with the Software Quality Assurance team to facilitate timely enhancements and resolution of issues.
  • Technological Innovation and Mentorship: Research and integrate state-of-the-art technologies, tools, and solutions. Mentor junior developers, sharing knowledge and best practices to elevate team capabilities.
  • Cultural Ambassador: Champion the company’s values of "Quality, Passion, Integrity, Innovation," promoting a culture of excellence and ethical behavior at all times.

What we look for:

  • Educational Background: University Degree in Informatics Technology or a related field. A Postgraduate Degree is preferred.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in software development, with proven experience in a (project) leadership role.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Object-Oriented Programming, with advanced skills in ASP.NET, C#, and JavaScript. Deep understanding of frameworks and design patterns.
  • Leadership in Agile Environments: Extensive experience in leading Agile projects, preferably SCRUM, demonstrating strong project management skills.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English, with C2 level certification highly regarded (e.g., LanguageCert C2 LTE, C2 IESOL).
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to mentor and lead teams effectively.
  • Personal Attributes: Highly organized, self-driven, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)

Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.

If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include:

  • A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
  • Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity and place of residence)
  • HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)
  • Financial background check
  • Employment reference check
  • If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK

In addition, if personnel are required to speak to SELT candidates they must be appropriately skilled in English language and, where SELT services are provided anywhere in the world (outside of the UK), the official language of the relevant country.
