Role Summary

As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will operate as the senior technical authority partnering with Account Executives (AEs), Technical Account Managers (TAMs), and strategic partners across the Enterprise segment to drive regional and corporate growth. You will serve as a trusted advisor to executive and senior technical stakeholders, shaping how customers and partners design, adopt, and scale solutions on the Qualys platform across asset and vulnerability management, patch management, threat detection and response, compliance, and cloud/application security.

You will own the technical strategy for the partner ecosystem — driving technical enablement, joint solution development, and the expansion of partner delivery and managed service capabilities around the Qualys platform.

This is a highly visible, senior individual contributor role with broad latitude to set technical direction, working in close, cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Partners, and C-level/senior customer stakeholders. You will be looked to as a mentor and technical escalation point for less experienced team members.

What You'll Do

  • Own and lead technical strategy for the most complex pre-sales opportunities, driving the technical win on strategic and high-value deals.

  • Lead discovery at the executive level to uncover, prioritise, and translate complex customer security and compliance requirements into end-to-end Qualys and partner-integrated solution architectures.

  • Design and deliver executive architecture workshops, whiteboarding sessions, technical deep dives, and board-level stakeholder presentations.

  • Architect and direct high-complexity Proof of Concept (POC) / Proof of Value (POV) engagements, setting the standard for how these are run across the team.

  • Independently identify gaps between current and target state; define solution patterns, adoption roadmaps, and long-term architectural strategy.

  • Build and steward executive-level trusted relationships with technical and security decision-makers across customers and partners.

  • Shape proposal strategy, providing senior technical differentiation and business value narratives for the most strategic pursuits.

  • Lead partner technical enablement at a programme level — designing training curricula, solution guidance, joint architecture frameworks, and operational best practices.

  • Drive the development of partner-delivered and managed security service offerings, acting as the senior technical architect for these initiatives.

  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between customers, partners, Product Management, and Engineering — resolving the most complex technical challenges and directly influencing roadmap priorities.

  • Author authoritative technical enablement content (solution guides, white papers, blogs, workshops), setting the bar for internal and partner sales enablement.

  • Proactively identify systemic technical challenges across the field and lead the development of scalable enablement assets, automation frameworks, and best practices adopted org-wide.

  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior Solutions Architects and TAMs.

  • Travel expectation 20–30%.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in pre-sales, sales engineering, solution architecture, partner engineering, or customer-facing security architecture roles, including demonstrated experience leading the most complex, strategic engagements.

  • Deep, hands-on experience using the Qualys platform in large-scale Enterprise environments.

  • Proven track record working with partners, MSSPs, alliances, or channel organisations in a technical leadership, enablement, or solution development capacity.

  • Demonstrated ownership of a vulnerability or risk programme at scale in a large enterprise environment.

  • Expert-level, hands-on command across multiple domains: asset management, vulnerability management, patching, policy/compliance, cloud security, application security, and threat detection/response.

  • Proven ability to architect complex, end-to-end security solutions spanning identification through remediation and recovery, independently and at executive level.

  • Strong command of common security/compliance frameworks and how to apply them strategically.

  • Deep working knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI).

  • Executive-level communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence C-level and senior technical audiences.

  • Demonstrated self-direction, sound judgment, and the ability to lead cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.

  • Demonstrated experience leveraging AI, automation, scripting, or workflow optimisation technologies to drive measurable operational efficiency and improved customer/partner outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct Qualys platform experience strongly preferred; equivalent senior-level security platform experience welcomed.

  • Track record supporting the largest Enterprise customers and most strategic partners.

  • Demonstrated history of influencing product direction through customer, partner, and field feedback at a strategic level.

  • Experience architecting or leading managed security services, integrations, or joint solution architectures from concept to delivery.

  • Deep familiarity with DevSecOps workflows, cloud-native security, and mature security operations practices.

  • Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CCNP, or public cloud certifications.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
