Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Scrum Master / Agile Coach to oversee and guide our Agile teams, adapting to their maturity level and ensuring their success. The role demands a dynamic leader who understands the critical partnership between the Scrum Master and the team, fostering collaboration and adherence to Agile principles.

As a Delivery Lead, you will embody a servant leadership and coaching mindset, identifying needs, removing impediments, and contributing actively to enhance team performance and success. Your primary responsibility will be to maximize the business value delivered by the team, focusing on optimizing throughput and delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Delivery Management: Lead and oversee multiple global cross-functional teams, ensuring the successful delivery of various projects using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe).
  • Sprint and Program Increment (PI) Events: Effectively manage and facilitate sprint ceremonies and PI events to support timely development and product releases.
  • Product Shaping and Scope Management: Support the product owner in maintaining a healthy product backlog, managing dependencies, and ensuring the alignment of scope with business objectives. Educate and guide where needed.
  • Stakeholder Management: Establish and nurture strong relationships with team stakeholders, vendors, and dependent teams. Collaborate to align on project goals and expectations.
  • Planning and Estimation: Lead PI and sprint planning sessions to establish scope, create detailed release plans, and ensure alignment with Sprint goals and PI OKRs. Facilitate estimation of epics and stories in Agile tools.
  • Team Coaching and Development: Coach and mentor teams to foster self-organization and continuous improvement. Guide squads to achieve higher levels of Agile maturity and efficiency.
  • Impediment and Dependency Management: Proactively identify, track, and help remove impediments and dependencies that affect the team's ability to deliver.
  • Retrospective and Continuous Improvement: Conduct retrospectives to identify pain points and improvement areas. Introduce fresh, practical ideas to enhance team performance and Agile practices.
  • Progress Tracking and Metrics: Set up and regularly review metrics to track progress and performance. Identify anti-agile patterns and coach teams to address and overcome them. Escalate issues that impede progress to ensure timely resolution.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage risks that could affect delivery timelines and project outcomes. Develop mitigation strategies in collaboration with teams and stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that deliverables meet quality standards and requirements. Promote best practices in testing, documentation, and deployment.
  • Agile Evangelism: Champion Agile principles and practices across the organization. Promote a culture of continuous learning and adaptation to enhance Agile adoption.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years leading delivery of large-scale transformation programs (leveraging Agile or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) ), involving business process and change, organization change, and multiple large-scale technology components.
  • 4+ years of experience in building data platforms and solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college/university.
  • Experience in coaching Product owners in Product backlog health, prioritization, etc.
  • Very strong understanding of the system development life cycle.
  • Good to have: Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified Scrum Professional (CSP).
