EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
In your role as a Senior SAP Cloud BASIS Engineer, you will be required to have the following knowledge and perform the following tasks:
- Have knowledge in the following SAP areas: SAP Solution manager, SAP BASIS ABAP system administration, performance/workload analysis, HANA database administration
- SAP Business Technology Platform administration and support
- SAP system maintenance such as upgrades, system copies and kernel updates
- Providing technical advisory to our customers for our SAP cloud solutions and services
- Lead, guide and coach junior team members
- General SAP system administration and tuning
- Owning SAP BASIS issues through to resolution
- Proactively identifying the root cause of issues and recommending and implementing solutions
- Sizing, transport management
- SAP on Cloud experience preferred in a hyperscaler environment (AWS, Azure and/or GCP) preferred
- Work in a global DevOps environment supporting and collaborating with our broader technical and functional teams
SOFT SKILLS
- Fluent English speaker, writer and reader
- Good analytical and fast learning skills
- Good communicator
- Good skills in problem analysis
- Calm and steady, should be able to handle customers in Sev 1, Sev 2 situations and de-escalate in area of expertise
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar, required.
- Good knowledge in BASIS administration
WORK EXPERIENCE
- 7 + years of experience in SAP system administration or hands on consulting
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced business environment. Flexibility and adaptability are must haves to be successful in this role
PRODUCT EXPERIENCE
- Core experience- SAP BASIS, SAP HANA, SAP Solution Manager, SAP on IaaS
- Preferred experience: SAP Business Technology Platform administration, SAP Role build
TECHNOLOGY EXPERIENCE
- Core experience: Azure or AWS or GCP knowledge or knowledge of infrastructure requirements for SAP, SAP technical security (SSO, SSL setup)
