Saphetor is pioneering the use of big-data sequencing technology, such as exome and whole-genome sequencing, for clinical practice. We are involved in both clinical research and diagnostics, providing our clients with quality analysis and interpretation of next-generation DNA sequencing (NGS) data. All our services are provided over the web, and our VarSome.com website is the world’s prime reference for genetic variant interpretation.
Role Responsibilities
- Conduct automation and manual testing, while documenting test methodologies.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of our clinical platform, which enables fast and accurate variant detection, annotation, and interpretation of NGS data for whole genomes, exomes, and gene panels to give the highest quality to our customers.
- Participate in the full product development life-cycle: defining test requirements at the start of a project, tracking and managing test issues, ensuring that the software meets its acceptance criteria, signing off on releases for quality purposes and reviewing test documentation.
- Continue to develop our automation suite and embed this within our development process.
- Write concise documentation and revise older test cases to achieve greater testing coverage.
- Develop new testing frameworks where necessary.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and promote best testing practices across the team.
What you will bring:
- BSc and/or MSc Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other STEM degrees. A BSc and/or MSc Degree in Bioinformatics would be a plus.
- At least 4 + years of experience in Quality Assurance, focusing on test automation, including designing, implementing, and maintaining test frameworks and test cases.
- Familiarity with test management/documentation tools (e.g., TestRail, QC).
- Working knowledge of API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI).
- Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver and test frameworks such as Pytest.
- Programming experience with Python.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Be a flexible team player and have the ability to manage a project.
- Highly motivated and detail-oriented individual.
