Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

As a Senior Product Manager for BTNZ, Westpac’s investment management arm, you will play a critical role in shaping and governing our managed investment schemes. You’ll lead the full product lifecycle from strategy and governance through to compliance and financial performance ensuring our offerings not only meet regulatory obligations but also deliver exceptional experiences for our customers.

In this role, your day‑to‑day focus will be on optimising customer outcomes while overseeing the end‑to‑end delivery of products to market. This includes strategic planning, business analysis, pricing, risk management, governance, and managing a wide range of stakeholders across the business.

While the position does not include direct reports, it will involve dotted‑line leadership, providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members. You’ll help foster a high‑performance culture, influence stakeholders across the value chain, and support the Head of Product Investments to deliver strong commercial, customer, operational, and risk outcomes.

Candidates with investment knowledge and prior experience of its application in wealth management will be preferred.

  • Previous experience in a product management role (in funds management and/or investments would be preferred)

  • Strong understanding of investment markets and products available in New Zealand

  • Proven experience and ability to lead projects and deliver strategy and business outcomes in a large and complex organisation

  • A growth mindset with the ability to drive change through a large organisation

  • Strong time and stakeholder management skills to guide individuals to fast and effective outcomes

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal skills
