At TrueLayer, we’re building the future of payments. We’re on a mission to take on outdated payment methods with a solution designed for today’s online, on-demand economy. By removing friction at the heart of commerce — the payment — we’re making it faster, safer, and smarter for everyone.
To date, we’ve raised $300 million from world-renowned investors including Stripe, Tiger Global, Addition, and Tencent. With offices in London, Milan, and Dublin, we’re trusted by industry leaders like RyanAir and Just Eat Takeaway. But this is just the beginning.
We’re reimagining how the world pays, invests, shops, and saves. We’re transforming payments for industries like e-Commerce and iGaming, redefining what’s possible with technology and innovation. Now, we’re looking for people who are ready to help us build a brand that changes an industry.
At TrueLayer, we’re building a global account-to-account payments network that’s changing how money moves and so much more. We make payments and refunds instant, account data accessible, and verification seamless — all so innovators in every industry can build better financial experiences for their users.
We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to join our Product Development team within the Merchant Banking group, where you'll navigate the complex landscape of payments, banking infrastructure and regulatory requirements. The Merchant Banking Payments team delivers instant payouts, virtual accounts and complementary merchant services to our business customers.
As a Senior Product Manager, you will lead one or more cross-functional product development teams to define strategic product vision, build comprehensive roadmaps and execute initiatives that drive measurable business outcomes.
At TrueLayer, Product Managers leverage deep technical expertise in financial APIs and infrastructure to solve complex challenges for both internal teams and our customers.
What we expect from you:- Merchant Cash Flow Optimisation: Help merchants solve their biggest cash flow headaches by driving adoption of TrueLayer's merchant accounts, automated sweeping, and instant payout solutions - turning painful days-long settlement delays into instant transfers while cutting operational overhead.
- Multi-Currency Settlement Strategy: Own the product strategy for TrueLayer's GBP, EUR, and PLN merchant accounts, leveraging instant settlement rails (SEPA Instant, FPS, Express Elixir) to create seamless, lightning-fast settlement experiences across all currencies while driving expansion into new currencies and markets.
- Account-to-Account Revenue Growth: Be the champion for Pay by Bank collections and instant payout solutions that demonstrably reduce merchant transaction costs and provide faster settlement compared to traditional card-based payment rails, with a strong focus on payout product excellence.
- Instant Payouts Excellence: Optimise TrueLayer's payout APIs for both existing customers and new recipients, maintaining 99.9%+ payout success rates whilst ensuring instant settlement and enhancing merchant reconciliation capabilities.
- Recurring Payments Innovation: Build rock-solid API infrastructure and platform capabilities for pull payment functionality, tackling complex collection challenges head-on.
- Merchant Account Management: Take ownership of merchant account provisioning, balance management, and reconciliation capabilities, ensuring merchants can efficiently track funds, manage multi-currency balances, and automate fund movements without technical complexity.
- Scale & Reliability Excellence: Master the art of balancing exciting new merchant banking features with technical debt management and infrastructure reliability initiatives, ensuring payment systems perform under high transaction volumes.
- Product Management Experience: You bring 3-5 years of product management experience working alongside engineering teams in agile environments, with a proven track record of delivering complex technical projects from concept to launch.
- Customer Focus & Stakeholder Management: You excel at working directly with merchants to deeply understand their operational challenges, whilst building brilliant relationships with teams across the company - including Customer Success, Integration Sales, Bank Partnerships, Legal, and Compliance - to deliver solutions that delight customers and hit business goals.
- Data-Driven Prioritisation: You act decisively on incomplete data sets, using your prioritisation skills to build consensus among stakeholders whilst balancing big-picture vision with tactical execution in TrueLayer's fast-paced environment.
- B2B Technical Product Expertise: You've got solid experience with API products, PaaS solutions, or technical SaaS platforms and love building merchant banking infrastructure for developers who integrate multiple financial endpoints and banking APIs.
- SQL & Data Analysis: You're comfortable working with datasets using SQL, Excel, and data visualisation tools to analyse payment performance, investigate settlement issues, and identify root causes of merchant problems - performing independent analysis when required.
- Go-to-Market Experience: You have experience crafting and executing go-to-market strategies for technical B2B products, managing product launches and coordinating with sales and marketing teams to successfully roll-out new capabilities.
- Cross-Functional Delivery Experience: You've successfully coordinated and delivered complex technical projects involving multiple endpoints, microservices architecture, and cloud infrastructure whilst communicating effectively with engineers and keeping product leadership in the loop.
- Problem Solving: You handle payment processing issues, settlement delays, and merchant escalations with strong analytical skills, working across engineering, partnerships, and external payment processors to resolve complex problems under pressure.
We would be particularly excited if you have:
- Financial services product experience
- Technical background with ability to understand complex technical challenges
- Payments industry experience (banks, fintechs, cards, PSPs)
- Start-up experience in fast-growth environments
