Job Description

We want to make moving money internationally instant, convenient, transparent and eventually free. 

For businesses, this means helping them to do business from anywhere and expand everywhere. To help them do this, we're building a world class business bank account, which allows them to get paid and pay people no matter where they are in the world, without getting ripped off by unfair exchange rates. 

We're taking our business account to the next stage of its growth, with a laser focus on solving problems for high growth SMBs. We need a strong Product Manager to join us on this journey. 

You'll be responsible for making it simple and delightful for small businesses to manage their global team expenses. This involves rethinking expense admin to streamline the month-end closing process, and providing complete transparency and control over employee spending. 

 

Here’s how you’ll be contributing to Wise:

  • Time is money, and small businesses cannot waste theirs. The business expense management team simplifies global expense management for small businesses. They offer a solution that allows businesses to manage their team's spending in minutes, and maintain full control over international expenses.

  • You’ll be working closely with Designers, Developers and Analysts and you’ll enable the team to make informed decisions and inspire the highest standards of execution.

  • You’ll report to the business account product lead, whose role is to help you find your own path to having a big impact on the Wise mission.

 

This role will give you the opportunity to:

As a Senior Product Manager specialising in Business Expense Management, you will be instrumental in defining and executing the Wise Business product strategy.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Product Vision & Strategy: Shape the Wise Business product vision and develop a specific vision for your team and domain. You will have the autonomy to make decisions that empower small global businesses, offering them solutions to manage team spending efficiently and gain complete control over international expenditures.

  • Domain Expertise: Gain deep domain understanding on the problems we are tackling. Ensure the scalability and reliability of Expense Management workflows as Wise serves larger and more complex customers. Stay ahead of the curve on spend management best practices, ecosystem tools (ERPs, APIs, integrations), and regulatory changes that could affect bookkeeping.

  • Product Performance: Analyse data to pinpoint opportunities and subsequently monitor the impact of your initiatives. Utilise data to construct compelling narratives, fostering conviction and inspiration.

  • Discovery & Design: Simplify global expense management for small businesses (10-50 employees, £2-10 million revenue). Prioritise delivering customer value alongside an exceptional user experience..

  • Organisation & Product Culture: Cultivate a collaborative and accountable culture within your product team and across the broader organisation. Inspire both your team and other teams to contribute to our overarching mission.

  • Go-to-Market: Develop and implement the go-to-market strategy in collaboration with Marketing, Sales, and Account Managers. Equip and train teams to effectively sell the product.

 

A bit about you:

  • You have experience in solving problems for small businesses, and come with a wealth of insights into how businesses manage their money. You've had experience speaking directly with business owners and finance teams, and can translate complex problems into simple and delightful solutions. At least 2 years in a B2B SaaS targeting SMEs.

  • Proven experience in building expense management solutions or adjacent product like spend management platforms or business banking solutions for small businesses

  • You know how to deliver a 0-1 launch, or a step change in an existing feature, and get your team and peers to buy into your vision

  • You have a track record of delivering excellent user experience on web, iOS and Android. You have a strong sense of UX and a strict attention to UI details.

  • You’re data-driven – You are able to dive into data to identify opportunities and then measure your impact. You prioritise the value you can add to customers, and can get the entire company behind you by telling stories with data.

  • You have a good technical understanding – help your team prioritise technological investments, tech debt reduction, bugs and new features.

  • Communicating clearly and logically – You are able to effectively frame problems to influence across the team. You are comfortable communicating with internal and external partners on challenging issues, whether in written format or at sprint planning with the team

  • You’re not afraid of being a true lead, helping your team with hiring, learning skills you don’t know today to unblock things everywhere needed. You don’t stick to a “by the book” product manager role definition. You get it done.
