Own the AI Platform product backlog, roadmap, discovery, sprint ceremonies, requirements, prioritization, metrics, releases, and stakeholder communication. Partner with engineering, consultants, clients, and go-to-market teams to deliver a compliant enterprise AI platform. Guide trade-offs involving security, technical debt, governance, model evaluation, routing, pricing, packaging, and open-core strategy while supporting demos and pre-sales.
Our mission at vector8 is to elevate organizations by unlocking the true value of AI, getting the best from Human-Machine collaboration. We have a culture grounded in inclusivity, curiosity, ownership, and collaboration, where your ideas shape the future of AI consulting.
We believe that over the next decade, every business will become an AI business and that a new era of AI transformation will enable greater leaps than ever before. We see a world where the seamless integration of human expertise and advanced AI technologies sparks unparalleled growth, efficiency, and resilience across all sectors.
vector8 collaborates with ambitious enterprises to address these challenges by adopting a unique strategy that merges the strengths of a product vision and custom development expertise. We deliver tailor-made, fine-tuned optimized, and compliant AI solutions swiftly and affordably, leveraging AI Accelerators that tackle common industry problems and can be adapted and combined to build and deploy targeted use cases in production.
Alongside our consulting and delivery work, we are building our own AI Platform: an open-core platform that gives regulated enterprises one place to build, govern, evaluate, optimise and run their AI. It brings together a catalogue of reusable agents, workflows, tools and models; intelligent model routing that sends each request to the right model at the right cost; and a secure environment where teams build production apps on top of that catalogue. It is designed for environments where compliance and data sovereignty are not optional.
As we take our AI Platform from early deployments to a product that enterprises buy, run and rely on, we are hiring our first dedicated Product Manager to join the AI Platform product and engineering team, where you will also act as its Product Owner.
You will help shape the product strategy and roadmap and, as Product Owner, own the backlog that turns them into clear, valuable increments that the engineering team can ship every sprint. Working side by side with the product lead, the engineering team and our client-facing consultants, you will be the voice of the user inside the team.
We are looking for someone who is equally comfortable in a discovery session with a Chief Risk Officer, a backlog refinement with engineers, and a demo to a client steering committee. A solid foundation of relevant experience matters, but beyond that baseline we value your judgement, curiosity and ownership more than years in the field.

Job requirements
- At least 6 years in a Product Owner or Product Manager role on a B2B software product, ideally a technical or platform product (developer tools, data, cloud or AI platforms).
- A track record of owning a backlog end to end and shipping, in short cycles, with a cross-functional engineering team.
- Strong working knowledge of modern AI: LLMs, RAG, agents and agentic workflows, evaluation, and the cost and quality trade-offs between models. Hands-on coding is not required, but you can read an API spec, follow an architecture discussion and challenge an estimate.
- Solid command of Agile practices (Scrum, Kanban) and tooling such as Jira and Confluence, with the judgement to adapt process to the team rather than the reverse.
- Experience running user discovery and turning qualitative and quantitative insight into prioritised requirements.
- Excellent written communication: your user stories, release notes and product documentation are clear enough that nobody needs to ask what you meant.
- Confidence with senior business and technical stakeholders, and the ability to say no with good reasons.
- Genuine empathy for customers and proven experience building trusted relationships with them: you understand their constraints and pressures, and they want you in the room when decisions are made.
- Experience working in international, cross-cultural environments, with distributed teams and clients across several countries, and the ability to adapt your communication style to each.
- Experience with AI governance, model risk management or MLOps / LLMOps products (observability, evaluation, guardrails, model gateways or routers).
- Exposure to banking, insurance or other regulated industries, and familiarity with the EU AI Act and GDPR.
- Experience with an open-core or open-source product: community feedback loops, licensing boundaries, enterprise upsell.
- Involvement in pricing and packaging decisions for a usage-based or tiered SaaS product.
- A consulting, agency or systems integrator background, giving you empathy for how our delivery teams deploy the platform at clients.
- A recognised Product Owner certification (e.g. CSPO, PSPO).
- Fluency in English and ideally French.
Job responsibilities
- Own and prioritise the AI Platform product backlog, keeping it ordered by value, risk and dependencies, and honest about what is and is not ready.
- Contribute to the product vision and roadmap, and translate them into epics, user stories and acceptance criteria that engineers can estimate and build without guesswork.
- Run discovery with clients, prospects and internal consultants: interview users, map workflows, and turn real problems (governance, evaluation, cost control, app building) into product requirements.
- As Product Owner, lead sprint ceremonies: refinement, planning, reviews and demos; accept or reject delivered work against clear definitions of done.
- Make and explain trade-offs between new features, platform robustness, security and technical debt, together with the tech lead.
- Define and track product metrics (adoption, active apps and agents, routing savings, time to first value) and use them, alongside qualitative feedback, to steer priorities.
- Ensure compliance, security and auditability requirements for regulated clients (e.g. GDPR, EU AI Act) are built into the backlog, not bolted on.
- Prepare releases with engineering, consulting and go-to-market colleagues: release notes, documentation, demos and enablement material.
- Feed field insight into pricing, packaging and positioning work, including the open-core boundary between community and enterprise features.
- Support pre-sales and client engagements with product demos, solution walkthroughs and feasibility input.
Benefits
- The chance to shape a product from its early stage: your decisions will define what the platform becomes and how enterprises use it.
- Direct access to real users: our consultants put the platform in front of leading European companies.
- Hands-on work with frontier AI technology (agents, model routing, evaluation, vibe coding for production) applied to real business problems.
- A small, senior, entrepreneurial product team where ideas move fast and ownership is expected.
- A collaborative culture built on our values: bold with change, excellent client focus, authentic always, collaborate to succeed, human first.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene
If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
